I thought it was good but not great. Better than enjoy by imo. Worse than the regular ruination.

was just talking about it in EDF

my thoughts were kind of similar to yours, it was overly hop bomby to me, not enough balance. I liked Enjoy By much better, and really would prob prefer the regular Ruination

Enjoy By blew RuinTen out of the water for me, I absolutely loved Enjoy By only had it twice unfortunately.

I havent had regular Ruination in a couple years, I am going to run out and grab one tonight to compare but my distant memory says I liked it better then Ruin10.

Wow nice. I gotta get on the trading forum on BA soon and try some Heady.

Agree on the above about RuinTen almost reminding me of a barleywine, while it was interesting, Enjoy By kills it any time.

Should be easier in a year or two. Surly has purchased the land and released some of the designs for a new brewery. I think the current one has a 20,000 barrel capacity and the new one will be over 100,000.

I'll believe it when I see it for Surly coming back to Chicago full-time. I know about the increased capacity, but I have a feeling it will be more than just a year or two before it comes back.

I've bought this a couple of times, and while it's certainly interesting, I found myself really struggling to finish the bottle both times. A bit sweeter and stronger than I'd normally want from a beer, but I'm more of a bitter/golden ale drinker normally.

Adnams Spindrift is my top rated beer for the summer, if you get past the super gimmicky blue bottle, it's a really nice flavoursome golden ale. Super easy to drink, excellent for lounging in the sun of an afternoon.

Michigan Brewers Guild summer beer fest is this Saturday. Luckily it's less than a 10 minute drive away from my house.

Re: TLDR Beer Club

Had Hill Farmstead's Everett the other day, pretty fantastic beer. It really toes the line on being a Stout but I loved it, big coffee and roast aromas, smooth creamy mouth feel, smooth roasty malt flavor w/o being astringent. I am glad I have a second bottle of it.

This is the first beer Ive had from them that wasnt a funky Saison or a hoppy beer so it was a good change of pace, Sean never disappoints.

This list is pretty insane. Are some of those breweries really bringing 40+ beers?

I had it at Capone's in Norristown last month and it is amazing. By far the best porter I've had.

Brewed a saison today to get ready for college football season. But kicked the pale ale I had on tap. So need to brew a pale ale and a porter/stout in the next month.

We do a beer exchange at work and have it at a beer bar each month. Capones is a frequent pick even though it is twice as far as the other options.

My kids love their calamari.

Re: TLDR Beer Club

A lot of barrel-aged stouts end up being limited or brewery-only releases that are fairly hard to get. I'm thinking of things like Founders KBS, Deschutes Abyss, Goose Island Bourbon County Stout (although less so since AB acquired it), and Parabola. But there are some decent ones that can be found on shelves pretty regularly. I had one of my favorites last night:

Big Bad Baptist by Epic Brewing
