Ok so a distributor near me has a few cases of Russian River beers, they are $$$$. What they had was Supplication and Damnation, I forget the Damnation price but Supplication was 134.99 for 12 375ml bottles. (Damnation is probably cheaper but I dont recall the price).

I would have to go back and make they are there but Im thinking of getting a case but would like to go 3 ways on it. If anyone is interested (you gotta pay your shipping but I can ship from work Fed Ex for cheap not on the companies dime yay nonprofit!) let me know.

If you're in Florida, checkout Cigar City's Good Gourd. It's as good if not better than Punkin (but not in the same league as Pumking).

You're a very lucky man. I'm in FL so we don't even get Founders but I may have a lead on a GA store that could get them in on Monday. Thinking about a two hour drive across the border, same thing I did for KBS in March.

Terrible weather, terrible economy but awesome breweries.. Fair trade IMO. Ability to get a second bottle will dictate when I drink it. I kind of want to age one for a year and see the difference.

Left Hand Milk Stout might be the closest thing to an oreo dipping beer ever.

Nice! The breakfast stouts were seriously some of the best beers I've ever had. I also meant to review one but split some with friends and lost track. I think I want to attempt a clone version of it but at the same time I don't think something I'd clone could ever do that beer justice.

I believe I had this beer on cask about two months ago. It was phenomenal. There's a "local" bar (about 45min away) that does a new cask every Friday that I really need to check out more.

I'm going to do some stewarding this weekend for a homebrew competition this weekend that I'm pretty stoked about. Also have an exam in my beer class tomorrow that involves answering 50 questions and then sampling/critiquing 3 beers. Life is so tough sometimes.

Most recent beer review of the Magic Hat hI.P.A.

A - Pours a yellow and gold/orange hued body. Head is white and dissipates quickly. For the most part pretty clear with a very slight haziness to it.

S - American hops throughout the aroma. Smells piney and citrusy. Deliciously fragrant and smells like an IPA should.

T - Great bitterness and hop flavor throughout. Definitely a hop forward beer with bitterness greating my mouth instantaneously. As it explores the rest of my mouth the hop aroma and a slight malt backbone come out to play. Very citrusy.

M - Full bodied and slight alcohol burn. The bitterness tingles a bit.

D - A wonderful IPA and probably the best Magic Hat beer I've ever had. It's delicious from the beginning to the end and although the alcohol is a bit high, it would make a great session beer.

I agree. Went in to sample a few different beers last night and wound up just drinking three of those. I should have my hands on the entire Short's lineup here pretty soon, so a full review will be in order.

Anybody have recommendations for temperature controllers for a fermentation chamber? I need a new one so I can brew again.

Johnson analog temp controllers are supposed to be pretty good from the reviews I've seen. They are a bit more pricey at ~50$ but get good reviews.

Interesting update on this beer, as it condition the smoke came through pretty nicely. Pretty much the smoke level I was hoping for, a little on the nose and then some up front then fading to a roasty coffee on the back end. I do think the recipe is missing something interesting, not sure what but it just feels like it needs another layer of complexity.

Anyway, this beer was brewed for a competition and that was on Sunday. Everyone had to base their beer off of some Cherrywood smoked Rye that the bar who was hosting provided. I didnt place, but I made it out of the first round of cuts (they cut 20 of the 48 entrants after the first tasting so I made it past there) then they narrowed it down to 8 and had bracket style competition to determine the winner. Well here is my score sheet, I had to ask for it at the end, Im pleased with the score.



grrr id love more feedback. I am going to enter the beer in 2 more competitions, both AHA BJCP events so I should get some better feedback.

I got to judge some beers at the Saaz competition this weekend. I did a fruit round and an Irish/Scottish round. In the fruit round there was a cherry wood smoked malt black cherry porter that was phenomenal. Had a ton of cherry and smoke flavor in it and just a tad of roastiness. The only significant flaw was it was pretty under carbonated. Really great beer overall and I'd like to get some cherry wood smoked malt now :P.

My store just told me they were allotted 2 bottles of Canadian Breakfast Stout, which they were raffling off. Sucks, because I think they got a case of the Kentucky Breakfast Stout and I was able to get two of them...

Scored a bottle of CBS. It took so much effort I'm not sure I have a cause for celebration big enough to open it coming in the near future.

^^^^^^^i can categorically say i dont give two dick pickles about cbs. the amount of people ive heard talk about in bars/ liquor stores in the last 2 weeks is more than enough to justify the effort in getting it.

I couldn't find dogfish or southern tier's pumpkins so I tried a couple of shlafly's and they were ok, but nothing I would want to drink regularly. Really wish I could try dogfish's punkin but they stopped distribution to Indiana earlier this year.

I picked up a few Abita pecan ales, has anyone had that? Sounds like it could be good but I'd never heard I'd it
