Yeah, this isn't a bad option. The people who want a light beer probably won't care all that much whether you offer Sam Light, or if you skimp and go for any of Bud, Miller, or Coors lights. Pick the cheapest one. Put the money towards either a pale hoppy beer you may like more than SNPA or Brooklyn Lager, or towards the darker beer. Or just pocket the difference.
Sadly, I'd expect the light beer to be the hottest at your bar. You might want to register for a kegerator so that you can keep the leftovers of the good beer.
