I had a 4-pack of this last weekend. The first one had some of the freshest hop aroma I've ever had. It was like sticking my nose in a bowl of fresh hops. The other 3 bottles didn't leave me with quite the same impression, but very solid DIPA overall.

Founders is very good in general. Not far behind Bells imo. They make a ton of different really, really good beers.

Re: TLDR Beer Club

I´ve got a beer influenced post-binge brewing inside.. is it a big no no to "bump" multiple threads at once? I´ll try to have some content in my posts, but nothing highbrow, as I´m just a drunken finntard

I can't wait to have it on tap!

I may have asked this already, but does anybody around here buy beer online? I really, really need a good source if anybody has a recommendation.

I'd be interested. I have a belgian single I just bottled two weeks ago. Just picked up 6 corny kegs, now to build a kegorator.

This year's KBS release is on 3/15. I had it last year and it's a BIG beer. Delicious though - I'm probably splitting up a case with a few friends this year.

There actually hadnt been a homebrew post in between these 2 posts.

People have said its not worth its own thread anyway.

Really? With all the talk and interest ITT, I figured a lot of people would like their own brewing thread.

You gotta get with the Wookie.

He's not a normal mod though. Playing with him isn't like playing with a normal mod. That's 'cause normal mods don't pull people's arms out of their sockets when they lose.

Re: TLDR Beer Club

I'd be up for trading, but I have my porter in swingtops.

Started the Trippel on Saturday, will have to post recipe when I get home. Mashed a couple of degrees higher than we really wanted it to (154 vs 150) but I think it will be just fine.

I need to invest in more bottles so I don't have to finish a batch before I can bottle again.

Someday, a kegorator will be mine......

should be sorting out trip to my old uni for their annual beer fest this weekend, will try and get some pics on my phone. still have a few from the national winter ales fest, but they're just pictures of the actual beer and not very good ones at that, so i'll pass on those

Re: TLDR Beer Club

Here's the trippel we brewed this weekend. What do you think of the recipe? Any tweaks you'd add?

Candy Sugar was added well into the boil so as to not carmelize and maintian clarity.

Re: TLDR Beer Club

Yes.

It's my buddy's take on a local brewpub's trippel (Brugge Brasserie in Indianapolis), he's made it a few times and it does have a really great color.

Any of you guys going to the Natl Covention in SD in June?

Re: TLDR Beer Club

Super happy fun times at:

Bad photo skills so it missed off the 3, indicating that it's been going on for a lot longer than that indicates. Anyway,

This was the fourth beer I had, called Fraoch. It's brewed with heather so has a really distinctive and unique taste. Elsewhere:

My old uni has a lot of people that drink purple, i.e. snakebite and black, here they have a turbo version, namely half of the strongest ale and cider (10 and 8% respectively) topped with 14.5% blackcurrant wine. I passed.

Elsewhere;

that is basically half the beer. first time I went, that would have been all of it

And the food:

I think you can just about make out a chunk of what was a boar

Had a photo of the entertainment but it was a tad blurry, anyway the unions wind orchestra did everything from the A-team theme to the greatest hits of Queen. Good stuff.

Was too lazy to go to my beer guy and went to the corner store, he had Sam Adams Latitude 48 IPA... I was very pleasantly surprised. Best Sam I've ever had, quite hoppy! Will buy again.

Is this some sort of pop culture reference? If not I'd suggest making an appointment with your therapist.
