I throw an Oktoberfest every year with my homebrew ( ok ok, so this will only be the 2nd year ) so I'll be brewing a ton this weekend ... usually my brew day consists of 3 consecutive double batches ... so 3 10 gallon batches, and takes about 12 hours if I'm being honest with setup and cleanup times
My Scottish 140 Wee Heavy ( which I actually already brewed months ago in anticipation for Oktoberfest, takes 3 months to chill out ) takes 15 lbs of base malt for 5.5G, so just one of those uses up 30 lbs when I do my doubles
Most of my other recipes contain ~10lb of base malt for 5.5G ... so 20lb of base per recipe and I'll easily go through an entire 55lb sack in one brew day
This guy tho ... this fricking guy ... I'll now have enough in my reserves to make him:
