I've had Fraoch a number of times before; heather ale from Scotland. I liked it ok.

They claim it's the oldest beer recipe still in production. I remember it being light and floral kinda stuff, though that was a few years ago & I don't have access to it any more. Maybe I'll ask my mum to bring some out next trip she makes.

Come by and hang... these releases are very HOT, and the limiteds sellout quickly.

I have no vested interest if that is what you are asking... merely spreading the good word, Firestone/Walker!

just got back with half a case of Abucus and several bottles of Double Union Jack.

Mutha effing Nom!

Abucus is slightly less complicated in taste than Parabola was... but it seems slightly smoother(@ about 13.5%) and goes great with cheese or especially a piece of chocolate which is what was being severed.

good luck finding any, but if you get the chance.... Nom Nom.

I have a kegerator and one of the stipulations upon building it was that she got one tap for a "beer" she liked. I had lindemans framboise in there (one of her favorites), but they only come in 1/4 keg (the fat/short ones). Unfortunately, after installing the final 3 of 6 taps, the size of my kegerator means I need to order 1/6 (the corny kegs/homebrew keg size - tall and skinny) kegs to get all 6 taps running. One of her favorites is Hornsby's Amber Draft. But, I think they only produce amber "draft" in bottles, since we say Hornsby's at a beer festival and they only had bottles. But, she has tasted other apple ciders she really didn't like, so pretty particular here

Can anyone think of a beer we can try that comes in 5 gallon kegs that would be along the lines of a framboise (she also likes the other flavors - kriek and peche and what not) or cider?

not sure if these would fit, but has she tried the pyramid apricot.or the lost coast tangerine?

how have i been a lurker for so long, and never seen this thread. ?

What's the best cheapish beer in your opinions (cheap meaning commonly packaged in 12-packs and found at convenient stores).

my go-to convenience store beers are Sam Adams & Blue Moon, however I rarely find 12-packs of either at those types of stores. I get 12-packs of Sierra Nevada at the grocery store regularly though.

Tsing-Tao, Newcastle Brown Ale, in addition to the previous post. I also get Yuengling cause it's cheap and decent.

Not sure where you live and what you get, but around me it's hard to beat 12 packs of Deschutes when they are on sale (and they are most of the time).

SN is a good all around beer let alone cheap. Honestly though, I'd skip beer for a week to buy a dbl price of better beer next week.

EDIT: Drunk typos.

Just had the Mission St Pale Ale found at Trader Joe's. For $1/bottle, this thing blows a lot of haughty pale ales out of the water.
