Well if it goes well, I dont know why it wouldnt, Im sure we would do another round of it. This might be a little obvious but this is something we will probably keep in the lower 48 due to shipping costs.

The first round we could just swap whatever we have bottled currently, then have a little competition where we pick a style and all brew up batches.

Something like that might even warrant its own thread so...

You just gotta pack it nice and securely with newspaper bubble wrap whatever. Its technically illegal, you deff cant send it USPS but FedEx would be fine. If anyone asks what it is, which they wont, tell em its live yeast samples.

Maybe they'll finally be able to expand their shipping outside of the Twin Cities again. Either way, I don't see how this doesn't instantly become my favorite restaurant.

Head brewer Todd Haug already co-owns a pretty well thought of cafe with his wife (and maybe others) called Cafe 28. Before working for Surly he was the head brewer at the Minneapolis Rock Bottom... so they are bringing some prior restaurant experience to this project.

I don't think there's any particular issue with swapping beers. Just make sure you comply with your local laws, and don't post what states you're in publicly ITT if you're going to swap beer. Also, I wouldn't draw extra attention to it with a new thread.

Any of you homebrewers use a tap-a-draft system. ive been using one for a couple brews, but have some questions.

I got one second hand and hated it, I used it for half a batch then threw it out right after.

As for the HB swap, Id like to get at least 4 people in on our first try. I guess we will just do whatever you have bottled at the moment. I'll send some PMs to people later on in the week and get it organized.

this is the best beer ive ever had in my life

note that the first time i had it i didnt like it that much and enjoyed the 60 minute a lot more. but my first time having the 60 minute i didn't like it that much either. def an acquired taste i guess but if you like hoppy beer you will grow to love this one no doubt.

its not cheap but has a strong alcoholic content. my new thing is to put it in one of those freezer mugs and just sip it for like an hour

dogfishhead is terrible in my opinion. there are so many better beers out there. Im kind of shocked everyone i talk to loves there 60 min 90 min.

just personal preference tho.

I'd be in for beer swap. I almost exclusively keg my beers, but could bottle some for shipping. They won't be bottle conditioned though. But I haven't found a functional difference anyway.

It was just a huge pain in the ass, leaked in my fridge, went flat pretty quickly. Maybe I got a crappy one since it was second hand but Im upgrading to a kegging system in the next 4 weeks or so anyway.

The point of this for me and, I believe others as well, is to have an unbiased person taste some of my beers and give me their honest opinion on them. All in hopes to become a better homebrewers.

(Transcript of my tasting notes)

Radiant and clear golden orange with a very thin head. Leaves some lacing on the glass.

Pungent orange and grapefruit hop aromas. Alcohol is hidden in the nose. Typical West-Coat DIPA aroma, but not over-the-top or particularly spectacular. Good, but not great. I expected more. Hop Stoopid and Sculpin have better noses.

Taste is bitter hops with little to no malt character. Simple, bitter and pungent hop juice. Expected but for some reason disappointing. Alcohol is exceptionally well-hidden. I would not believe this beer is 11% abv.

Thin to medium mouthfeel. Similar to Elder and Blind Pig. This is the anti Sierra Nevada Hoptimum.

A fantastically drinkable DIPA. The alcohol is fantastically well hidden. Refreshing and delicious.

A delicious and sublime DIPA, but I don't think it quite deserves its reputation. It's delicious, but I am convinced I can find year-round offerings that are just as good if not better and are far less expensive. Drink it if you got it, but no need to go crazy trying to find it.

heading to a brewery tomorrow night that has hundreds of beers from all over the world. Some are upwards of $50 a bottle. I don't know a ton about beer but do know I like to try new beers. My favorite beer is Upland Wheat Ale. I also drink New Castle, Fat Tire, Sam Adams winter lager, and Coronas. Thanks for any help.

I picked up a four pack of these today.. Quite good but a bit too bitey of an aftertaste compared to some other high quality DIPAs. 9.4% ABV, 86 IBUs

I saw Saison Dupont on there. Never tried it, but would if I had the chance.

Bell's Two hearted ale, Old rasputin, most anything from Stone brewery,

I believe Founders is really well received. Their Kentucky Breakfast Stout consistently ranks high, although I didn't see that particular beer on the list...

I finally had the Troeg's Nugget Nectar and it was everything I wanted it to be and more.

Depends. I do like hoppy, not necessarily bitter tho. Ill try it again, maybe my tatse has changed as i havent had it in a while.

If you like these types of beers, has anyone tried the Harpoon Leviathan? Harpoon is brewed in CT, im not sure where its distributed. But the leviathan is a beast of an IPA
