Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project - Fluffy White Rabbits Hoppy Triple.

Really enjoyed it. Hops are very prevalent on the nose with a nice floral earthiness. Much less so on the palate though, with a little bitterness but a lot of sweet fruit, ginger, lemon. This is the best i've tasted from Pretty Things, but haven't had the whole lineup yet. Recommended.

Was much fun. Highlight of the night was Surly breaking out some of the '09 Darkness.

Slyfox RT 113 IPA now in Cans!

This is fantastic news imo, love this beer and love that they are expanding their can selection. The Pale Ale and IPA are my session beers, especially for tailgating.

I wish there were more beer in cans. Without exception when I have had the same beers that were offered in both bottles and cans I find the canned beer to be significantly better.

Two beers that I despise in bottles are Heineken and Yeuengling but I find their canned offerings to be decent.

As some of y'all might know, I used to work at the Brooklyn Brewery a while ago. In about 2000 or so, they put Brooklyn Lager in 12oz. cans so it could be sold at local golf courses. The cans were coated w/polyurethane to prevent that "aluminum" taste, and it worked. And the best part was you could stuff a ****-load of 'em into your pockets.

I moved down to Florida in 2002, and Brooklyn products just arrived about 2-3 years ago. I've enjoyed the Lager (one of my favorite session beers ever) but it never tasted quite right.

Recently, I managed to get one of their brand new 16oz. tall boy cans and, MAN did it taste good!

I suspect it was due to the fact it was SO fresh but can't be sure since they're not sold here yet. Maybe cans survive the trip better?

This is another good example Mark. The bottled Brooklyn Lager is far superior to the the Yueungling and Heineken bottles that I mentioned in a previous post but it is not as good as the Brooklyn Lager can version.

I just tried the Hop Trip by Deschutes.



Wasn't that hoppy imo, ie not hoppy enough considering the blurb on the label, but a good brew. Bit sweet/caramelly/fruity up front. Too sweet for me. 3.5 out of 5. ie a decent drinker but not something special.

I tried it alongside a Torpedo, so my taste buds may have been off...

Oh, I also tried the local Maui Brewing Co double IPA a couple nights ago, Double Overhead IPA. 9.2 ABV, 92 IBU.

Stuff is excellent!! Bit hoppy but well balanced with flavours; very much like a more intense Torpedo (yeah I'm also a Torpedo fanboy...)

Strong 4 or 4.5.

Unfortunately you drank this about 8 months too late. Fresh hop beers lose a lot really quickly and I'm pretty sure this was brewed in September/October. Decent beer in the fall however.

Grabbed a case of this tonight....Its delicious.

Kicked back a 4-pack of DFH 90 minute last night, so consistently amazing.

Have oppertunity to buy a 12oz 120 Minute for $7.99....still tanking.

I usually enjoy one to two at the most DFH 90 min IPA's. I would think that the sweetness might become a bit overwhelming while drinking #'s 3 and 4.

Yeah, the DFH 90 is very sweet... not a huge fan of DFH... maybe I just have a "west coast" palate, but there are lots of IPA I prefer over the 90, 75 & 120. Not that I'd toss'em out the window! But you get the idea.

Ditto. I just had a DFH Midas Touch for the first time not too long ago, and it's actually the DFH beer I've liked best so far, just ahead of the 60m IPA. Everything else I wouldn't buy again, even if it was priced at a reasonable point instead of "DFH price."

There was a little voice in my head that said 2 was enough, but I got the 4-pack for $10 straight with a 10% discount, pretty much no tax or deposit. Add the fact that my friend hooked me up with a freshly acquired grimbergen chalice, I decided to drink all 4 :-D.

The 60 minute is more of a "straight up" IPA, and the 90's malt characteristic definitely gives it a unique sweetness that makes it very good IMO.

I could definitely not see myself drinking anymore then 4, I must say i was quite buzzed when I got done.

I have drank a couple good craft/micro brews lately but nothing really worthy of a review...Oh Wait...Yes there is!!!

I've now had about 5 of those SN 3oth Anniversary stouts; it's getting better and better to me. The stuff is nectar. I'm gonna upgrade my rating to a strong 4.5. No real reason to leave the 0.5, I'll leave it to a stout expert to adjust that number

I have only drank the 75 at their brewpub. The DFH menu says it is a blend of the 60 and the 90. I found it a bit disappointing as it lacked the crisp citrusiness that makes the 60 appealing and the maltiness of the 90 seemed diluted as well. It was almost as if the two beers together cancelled out the most appealing characteristics of each other resulting in a soapy, bland mess.

Surprised this thread is hanging out on page 3 or 4... It's summer time you guys have to be trying some new or great stuff!?! Ah well....

As for me, had a little BBQ today for dinner... combined with a few beers... Sierra Nevada's "Southern Hemisphere Harvest" fresh hop seasonal- it just hit the stores this month so it's really really fresh and really really good.... then the Avant Garde by The Lost Abbey/Port Brewing... Didn't make it to the crown jewel 2010 "Angels Share" by Lost Abbey/Port Brewing as I was pretty full from dinner.

Actually kind of glad I didn't, want to share it with a buddy or two. It only comes in 375 ml and about $20 a pop, so there none to be wasted! Recently I also learned the story behind the name Angels Share, barrel aging, evaporation, etc... thought that was kind of interesting.

I gotta say, I have been really impressed with Sierra Nevada's seasonal and one-off stuff of late. They really work out all the kinks and present quality stuff every time. Not all are too my personal liking, but each have been quality beers that have some creativity... something I thought, up until the last few years, they didn't have anymore.

Why is Racer 5 just so damn good?

I'm so happy it's becoming more readily available here in Delaware.

Tried Anderson Valley's Summer Wheat. Not that good at describing taste et.c, but I enjoyed it and it's really good for hot summer day. 7.5/10.
