Wicked Pisser Awesome Movie Discussion Is Encouraged Here!

Not sure if anyone here has heard of this one movie this one time by that guy who made that other movie, but it was sick.

So movie are to have their own individual threads now?
02-21-2013 , 08:53 PM
Unless it is a throwaway line. Like that line Keanu said in Point Break. Classic, but did it deserve an entire movie built around it?
02-21-2013 , 08:55 PM
No, movies can have individual threads, but I closed Part 2 because it was too long. Mschu, you can always start movie threads anytime you want. You have earned your bona fides!

TY sir... you're a gentleman and a scholar.

Side Effects, loved it! Soderbergh can do no wrong IMO. I'll be very sad if he retires. Mara does a fantastic job as usual. When it comes to thrillers I never try to guess where it's going next, the journey is where it's at!

so that's it... hes done making movies?

IDK... I love Solaris, but I can not watch Crash.

I might however be tainted by intimate Mafioso knowledge.

Total Recall (2012) bah why did they remake this again? The original is some great scifi, this one is just uninspired. I don't even dislike the idea of remakes but how about actually trying to make a good movie?

Saw end of watch - liked it. Also saw Sinister and it was ok...nothing too terribly creepy. Cost a $1 so can't really complain.

Total Recall was total trash.

Spoiler:
That completely unnecessary fight scene between the main character and the president was one of the hardest things I've ever had to watch, especially because I like Breaking Bad.

Anyone seen life of pi? Probably going to see it this weekend. I read the book in high school but don't remember all the details

been there done that... wonderful idea for a story, in reality the execution is something altogether different. I'm not sure it makes for a good movie, and I am a big Ang Lee fan.

But hey, it's nominated by the academy.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is one of my all time favorites. This film is perfect. I don't think there's a single flaw in the whole movie, which is pretty rare... I usually have at least one thing to comment about at the end of every movie...but maybe since I like it so much i'm overlooking something?

In order to find a really good film I find myself having to keep going back to older films instead of watching the recent releases. There's so many good movies in the 90's and early 2000's that I didn't/ really couldn't fully appreciate since I was just a kid. I'm actually kinda jealous for anyone who got to see these awesome movies in the theaters.

I'm not saying the new movies are awful, but they're different.

edit: Haha I didn't mean to make anyone feel old when I said movies in the 90's and early 2000's, I guess I'm still a "kid" at 22.

Thought about what you said. Stayed up half the night thinking about it. Something occurred to me... fell into a deep peaceful sleep, and haven't thought about you since. Do you know what occurred to me?

You're just a kid, you don't have the faintest idea what you're talkin' about.

So if I asked you about art, you'd probably give me the skinny on every art book ever written. Michelangelo, you know a lot about him. Life's work, political aspirations, him and the pope, sexual orientations, the whole works, right? But I'll bet you can't tell me what it smells like in the Sistine Chapel. You've never actually stood there and looked up at that beautiful ceiling; seen that. If I ask you about women, you'd probably give me a syllabus about your personal favorites. You may have even been laid a few times. But you can't tell me what it feels like to wake up next to a woman and feel truly happy. You're a tough kid. And I'd ask you about war, you'd probably throw Shakespeare at me, right, "once more unto the breach dear friends." But you've never been near one. You've never held your best friend's head in your lap, watch him gasp his last breath looking to you for help.

I'd ask you about love, you'd probably quote me a sonnet. But you've never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes, feeling like God put an angel on earth just for you. Who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn't know what it's like to be her angel, to have that love for her, be there forever, through anything, through cancer. And you wouldn't know about sleeping sitting up in the hospital room for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes, that the terms "visiting hours" don't apply to you.

You don't know about real loss, 'cause it only occurs when you've loved something more than you love yourself. And I doubt you've ever dared to love anybody that much. And look at you... I don't see an intelligent, confident man... I see a cocky, scared ****less kid.

Just saw Side by Side. Loved the film and found what the directors, DOPs had to say very interesting. But god damn it Keanu Reeves did you have to narrate and present it?

His dull monotone voice combined with awkward phrasing almost made it unwatchable.
