Sorry I'm a couple days late, but I've been busy with the usual stuff at work. I am, though, maintaining my usual calm and even demeanor, despite the urge to lash out at a few ****ers.

Phat, can you include Merek's photo?

Hey gang!

Let us praise Idun, the goddess of Spring and rejuvenation in Norse mythology.

Or if you prefer, Persephone the Greek Goddess of Spring and Nature.

Sacrificing to your Goddess of choice is optional but encouraged. A simple libation is adequate. But if you prefer something more elaborate please indulge your every whim.

Happy Spring!

I told my niece that Samson had helped the guy who is doing some work around my house by sniffing his bottom and then sticking his tongue in his ear.
She replied “Samson is telling him that it ain’t much, but it’s honest work “

Byrds and squirrels

This may not have occurred to anyone else, but in general it is not a good idea to trip over a kerbstone and plant your face in the road. I have some practical experience in this matter.

squirrels always seem to find a nut.

There's loads of feral animals in Australia too, I heard. Feral camels and stuff.
03-25-2022 , 09:44 AM
Yep. And horses which got away. For some reason, they're called brumbies (IIRC) in upside-down land.

We used to have feral camels in Texas, descendants of a failed US Cavalry experiment, but no one has seen any for years.

There is a tremendous problem with feral pigs in Australia mainly in the north and west, millions of them. They are a real pest and do a great deal of environmental damage and the spreading of diseases, etc. The government has a bounty on them I think. But there is no way to eradicate them.

One of my uncles moved to Australia and he used to make extra cash killing the pesky beasts. I think you cut off their ears to collect the bounty. I don’t know if this is still in effect. This was in the 1990’s.

You ought to take up feral pig hunting, Zeno.
03-25-2022 , 08:32 PM
the pigs are down south in this country and now they are starting to come down into the northern states from canada where they have the problem up there.

there is also a breed that is very tiny and climbs trees. yes they are the tree little pigs.

It would be much more polite to refer to the feral animals in Australia as “Australians”, they are sort of human after all.

Maybe should be in the greatest quotes thread
“I like my women like I like my Parmesan , strong, smelly and shaved.”
