PERFECT is the only acceptable rating for FSM. kbyethx lol =p I find comedies to be the most rewatchable movies. I used to scoff at others who call it perfect/top tier comedy, but on a rewatch I enjoyed every single scene, and every comedic bit slaps. Mila Kunis low key the MVP of that movie.

Love, Death + Robots https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9561862/

Fantastic anthology of animated shorts spanning comedy, sci-fi, horror and fantasy.
Definatly NSFW so don't watch them with the kids!!

Rewatched The Matrix. It's been endlessly parodied and ripped off but that's because it's so good.

#5 is about a donkey. I can't imagine ever getting to 5, but apparently donkeys pull a lot of weight in the film world.

In high school and college when I was trying to develop more sophisticated taste I sought out a lot of those types of movies and even the ones I pretended to like I was often bored by. Probably would be a different story today but at the same time the quality of modern popular culture has increased so much I probably still wonít find the time to watch them.

That said, I am in the middle of watching Yojimbo right now.

Watching Broken Arrow on TCM, a western that according to Pauline Kael, no one doesn't like.

Interesting. I wouldn't think that many people who like the former would be fans of the latter (or vice versa). But what do I know.

I've tried to watch D&D on a couple of occasions and just could not get myself to sit through it.

Agree with both these. Of all the ďpretentiousĒ classic movies I sought out in my teens Dr S was by far my favorite. I remember watching D + D for the first time on vhs with my next door neighbors and cracking up laughing the entire duration.

Other ones Iíd pick as close to perfect: Naked Gun, Superbad, Pineapple Express, In Bruges, Dodgeball, Borat, Talladega Nights, and Fargo

I don't get Besson. I've tried because I know people who have taught entire courses in his films, but I can't find anything there.

Perhaps not the perfect comedy, but certainly the perfect credits for a comedy:

The big blue is unwatchable on tv, not a bad memory from when i was a kid but never enjoyed again after.

Besson is a terrible writer and director, everything he did since the 5th elements is pure trash. Valerian and getting meetooed should spare us from his work hopefully

Re: Talk About Movies: Part 4

Watched Winter's Bone for the 2nd time. 1st was piecemeal on a computer screen during dead time at work. This time on a legit screen. The movie just feels exceptionally real.

Liked it a lot the first time; dug it big this time. Garret Dillahunt! Jennifer Lawrence!! John Hawkes!!!

Besson

Enjoyed La Femme Nikita
Didn't like Leon so much
5th Element had it's moments, but some cringe in there as well
Lucy was pretty bad

He wrote Unleashed which I thought was good, but had low expectations.

He certainly doesn't have much range.

Jennifer Lawrence jumps off the screen in that movie, despite the bleak scenery. Not at all surprising where she’s gone from there.
