Just watched Her. I loved it but it made me sad. And I'm not sure why.

It's quite sad...one of the best movies of the last decade. Just perfect.

Always enjoyed your posts and your podcast!
Sorry! I have a vague recollection about that conversation! hah It was just timing. Believe I used to have the ancient 2+2 app on my phone. I bought a new phone and forgot my password. Tried to log in on my PC once or twice then gave up hah super lazy. Sicario 2 was hilarious btw. A far departure from the first one, testosterone oozes off the screen.

I went into emergency with extreme stomach pains. Spent 5 days in the hospital waiting to have my gallbladder removed. I'm a heavy set guy, so surgery was tricky for me. They said I stopped breathing at one point, so I likely have a sleep disorder. My body had a ****ed up reaction to the anesthetics, I spent weeks basically learning how to walk again. My legs went numb quite frequently. One night I woke up in the middle of the night and nearly pissed myself because I couldn't move my legs. After about 5 weeks or so I was back to normal, but it was an eye-opening feeling to have a lengthy, and slow routine for getting in and out of bed.

After that I injured my knee because I started walking more. My left meniscus became inflamed. When I injured it, I nearly fell down. I had to spend weeks just sitting around at home. All of this stuff feels like it should be prime Netflix viewing time, but I was in so much discomfort that I couldn't focus on movies, actually didn't watch anything for the longest time. My knee recovered and I re-injured it months later.

Theeeennnn I suffered a skin infection back in November. Took over a week to get proper diagnosis/treatment. It caused frequent cold sweats, high fever, loss of appetite/energy. It took about 6 weeks to recover from that because the infection got very swollen/irritated, I had a week solid of going to get IV treatment, then I was on antibiotics for another 5 weeks while the infection slowly went away. It returned twice, my most recent fight was last week.

Getting old sucks! I'm not doing myself any favors, but I'm making strides to improve things.

Those are my scars. Also I'm a twitch broadcaster. If you're into it, I'm "thecroshow" on there. Been having a blast with that. Sorry to derail the thread. Maybe this could have gone into low content thread heh anyway, your boy is back. I'm so freaking happy to see y'all going strong with this section.

I think that's because it's set in the future, but it might as well be now. Throughout the film everyone has their heads down, looking at their phones. Hi, guilty as charged! It's a bold move to have a man fall in love with his OS. Some of us have closer relationships with our phones/PCs/tablets/laptops.

Her is also deeply religious. There are several religious themes and symbols throughout. It's been years since I watched it. My brother is well-studied on various religions and he spotted the symbolism. Believe the place Phoenix lives is called something something in the clouds? The "perfect" being is often described as having equal male and female traits. At one point, Chris Pratt tells Phoenix that he's almost like a girl. I freaking love that movie.

I'm thinking of including it at the end of the semester for the Romantic Comedy course. I think it's fitting and should make for an interesting discussion about the topic.

How I'm spending Spring Break. Watching movies: today, so far, An Affair to Remember and Game Night. I spit out a mothful of coffee when she turned on the belt near the end of Game Night.

Make sure to find room for Spring Break and Where the Boys Are. My 2 favorite spring break movies! You can vicariously relive your youth through them

I like when the bad guy gets sucked into the engine, and she cheers, but then goes, "Oh no, he diiiiiiied."

I saw Where the Boys Are at Brown, and the crowd went wild when one dude introduced himself as a Brown student in the film.

This pretty much nails it.

I thought Captain marvel was one of the worst from the mcu. The character had no redeeming quality and her introduction makes no sense at this point. Nick fury character was destroyed by that movie.
It was watchable but super forgettable

Just like Black Panther, doctor strange and ant-man, Captain Marvel doesnt look interesting at all and not going to watch it.

There were some bad one like gotg 2, thor's and avengers 2 but i really did enjoy infinity war and previous movies like captain america, gotg, spiderman and iron man + Im looking forward to Endgame. But i have a feeling its gonna go downhill fast after that with the MCU.

If captain marvel is any indication, it could be going downhill with endgame. It was horrible.

I kinda want to know what Captain Marvel's deal is just so I can be ready for the next Avengers movie, but I figure I can just check her wikipedia page instead.

I don't think the story in the movie won't really have anything to do with the next Avengers movie (anything important anyway).

Enjoyed Triple Frontier. Nothing groundbreaking, but a good way to kill a couple of hours.

She is super badass an she s coming back to earth to help the avengers kick thano's ass. That's it. After watching the movie you don't know more than last year.

They could have made some cool movie with some top gun and 90's vibe but instead it's closer to a men in black with a superhero.
