Pretty clean Oscar ceremony, no real gaffs but also nothing too noteworthy either. Cena bit was funny. I missed the In Memoriam so not sure if that was done well or not.
When American Fiction won best adapted the slim chance of it not being an Oppenheimer night seemed a bit more plausible, but then nope. Not many surprises.
Pacino kind of ruined the moment. They need to do away with legendary icons for Best Picture and just let the host, or someone more with it handle the duty.
Gosling stole the show though. His performance was great.
I didn't watch the show but saw some clips on YouTube and good lord the whole bit with the past winners verbally jerking off the nominees was so cringe.
pretty incredible they managed to make the show even more of a giant circle jerk how out of touch can they get?
Just wait for next year. I didn’t watch it either, haven’t in years. But it’s always entertaining to read about all the fuss and hoopla and how self important the academy has become.
It’s just movies and actors and producers and etc. The personal that keep your local sewer system running correctly are a million times more useful and important.
