I was thinking the same thing about Wallace's soul.

But I don't think there's any trolling going on.

I definitely want to see this new Godzilla movie, after what you all say about it.

On the opposite end of the big spectacle scale, last night I watched an old movie from 1950 at home that I've always heard about but never seen. It was about as low budget as you can get yet it affected film history and is acclaimed by film noir enthusiasts. It was the forerunner for the famous Bonnie and Clyde(1967). It was secretly written by the great Dalton Trumbo who had been blackballed by the government and starred two relatively unknown actors. They play star-crossed lovers who bond over the love of, of all things, gun shooting. You get to see an intense target shooting ritual well they each try light matches which are attached to crowns on each other heads by shooting at them with hand guns. They attempt a daring bank robbery in a scene which has been made famous because the actual robbery is not shown on the screen. Later they dance in a ballroom together to a singer who sings "I'm laughing on the outside but crying on the inside" . Finally in the end they embrace in a foggy mountain hilltop. Some hot scenes. Its called Gun Crazy (1950) on Tubi (free with ads) IMDB 7.6.

Well if he's not trolling then he needs to explain himself, otherwise that's exactly what it is.

That was 'cool and the gang'....
I love that you guys out in the effort!

What's in the box... certainly we're not trying to rewrite the film, and it's fairly obvious that what's in the box is a physical manifestation of David Mills soul.

1) pride / humility
2) greed / generosity
3) lust / chastity
4) anger / patience
5) gluttony / temperance
6) Envy / charity
7) laziness / diligence

David Mills soul, is in the box.

You can clearly see the moment that David's soul leave his body in the sequence where David shoots.

Vengeance is not a virtue.

I just watched Hitchcock's The Trouble With Harry. It's a terrific black comedy of sorts. The script is filled with fine innuendo throughout, especially Shirley MacLaine's version of her second wedding night.

One critic that I read years ago says that the trouble with Harry is that he has an erection throughout.

Highly recommended.

There is talk that Godzilla: Minus One is a companion piece to Oppenheimer.
Both films have the exact same villian... the spector of war and future destruction of all humanity thru the tools of man's own making.

What's unique is that one film shows the madness of the creation of this madness, the other clearly shows the victimization and wrath of that madness... the two are inexorably intertwined.

I watched the 3 hour version of Terrence Malick's The New World...

It is very easy to get lulled into a sense of visual hypnotism when watching this version of the film... but there comes a point where emotions come flooding in once we realize the sheer force of will it took to survive during this period and what it must have actually been like to persevere, explore, conquer and find true love during this period.

Malick's The New World makes Cameron's Avatar look like some amateur film maker made that cgi'fest.

^^^^^^^^^^^

I've only seen the theatrical version and that is a stunning film. I love that John Smith's first glimpse of the new world is a partial one and how he then becomes immersed in that new world.

The ending is extraordinary.

^^stunning is exactly the word. Some of my favorite cinematography in any movie ever. The greens from the forest pop in ways that I just couldn’t believe the first time I watched it

Feels like it doesn’t get the credit it deserves

What Just Happened Two days in the life of a top movie producer.

Never heard of this one. Lots of stars. Lots of fun. I really enjoyed it. Every minute of it. Especially the Bruce Willis bits. Would recommend.

In other words, it’s his wife’s head.

lol I enjoy those young guys, John...they're excited about movies, and that's a good thing. And it isn't film criticism - it's a reaction to seeing something for the first time. And you see the effect it has on them when they discuss the film. I enjoy seeing younger people reacting to great art like this - obviously, they don't know all the context, but it is interesting.

Dom, it's the stupid reaction photos that get me. It's like they are watching a comedy or a low budget horror film. At least try for a serious look. I might be tempted to watch it if they weren't making those goofy faces. Probably best not to put their faces on the shot from the film at all.

I agree. Another popcorn sci-fi movie that Cruise did that was maybe a step down from "Edge of Tomorrow" was "Oblivion."

sadly it's not that way by accident, it's absolutely proven that putting in those thumbnails increases views

you gotta remember that by far the largest youtube demographic are teens and preteens
