I saw Citizen Kane on late night TV. As I remember it, I was completely unaware of the concept of classic movies -- they were just old movies that had had their day.
Kane made quite an impression on us. For years, a local high school gang called themselves Rosebud. You would see "Rosebud" painted on water towers and overpasses. You got a lot of cred for putting a "Rosebud" in a great place. This was before graffiti was even a concept. Then it was simply considered vandalism.
A friend told me that she and other high school friends put "Qu'est-ce que c'est?" On their shoes. She's younger, but I'm not sure why high school kids would put a lyric from "Psycho Killer" on their shoes. I can only assume they were the nerds.
