Unfortunately, Free Guy is not available on Disney+ for those of us in the U.S.

At least not yet.

i wouldn't say sucked is the correct word

not serious? yes

light filler that you'll forget about in a week? yes

entertaining at the moment for what it is? yes

one of the best things about siskel & ebert was they reviewed films based on what their genre was

if you know that free guy is going to be a silly and light action/comedy going into it, which you should since it stars Ryan Reynolds, then it's a fine film

Fell asleep half way through it and I was expecting to like it.

Liked Dune but I built up too many expectations for it.

Without knowing much about the book, it felt like to me that it would have been a huge benefit to have read it before seeing this. So many factions and interweaving plots that probably couldn't have been fleshed out properly in 2+ hours.

Still really enjoyed it.

Yeah, it's loud. Gloriously so. Zimmer's score is perfect.

The only quibble I have is that it might be hard to understand what's going on if you haven't read the book.

You know how you have a book or two from your youth, that has stayed with you, and you can see in your mind certain scenes and what it looked to you as you were reading it? Dune was that book for me...I haven't read it since I was about 14, but Dune the movie looks exactly like I pictured it should be when I first read it.

Timothy Chalamet is absolutely perfectly cast as Paul. He's young, beautiful, and steely-eyed. There's a strength beneath his perfect visage.

I loved every minute.
Came here to read everyone's thoughts on Dune, y'all never fail to disappoint. I love every frame of this film. Love the emotional pull in this one. It fascinates me that Villeneuve is so strongly tied to science fiction AND so plugged in to human emotions. I caught it in IMAX and hope to see it at least 1 or 2 more times theatrically.

I enjoyed Lynch's Dune much more than I expected to enjoy it.

There's a lot to hate, but there's also a lot to love. The set design and music are phenomenal.

Actually, I think “pretty great” is still too high of a mark. Lynch himself hates his own version.

Don't care, it has too many good moments to be dismissed so easily.

No one movie can do justice to Dune. It has too many themes and multiple plot lines. A series of three movies, like The Lord of Rings saga say., would be much better; and even then it would be in broad brush strokes. But give a much better presentation to this great novel.

Well, as razor just said, the 2nd was greenlit. But, the director has said he wants to do 3 movies total, including stuff from Messiah in the 3rd.

I enjoy Lynch's Dune, as well. I especially like the inner bits of thought each character has via voice-over.

I don’t know anything about Dune. I know there are multiple books. Are the three movies based on one book? Are the other books prequels and sequels or a continuation of the original?

Despite not having seen a lot of the classics, noir is one of my favorite genres. I spent the last few weeks watching most of the movies in Criterion's "Neonoir" collection. I don't want to waste too much of anyone's time doing a full write up on each one but on first viewing I’d rate them like:

The Best

Body Heat
Chinatown
Night Moves

^^I can't describe how much I loved these movies

The Great

The Long Goodbye
Manhunter
The Killing of a Chinese Bookie

The Good

Blood Simple
The Hit Man

The Average

Cutters Way
Mona Lisa

Still have quite a few more to go, sure am enjoying watching all these and will be sad when it’s over.
