Those Who Wish Me Dead is in post production, for those looking forward to some more Sheridan

You had me at "more Sheridan" but Those Who Wish Me Dead sounds sooooo good.

Also enjoyed Hell or High Water over Wind River, but that's purely personal preference.

The stereotypes are a bit cringeworthy for me at this juncture but the cinematography, the battle scenes, the characters, the score, the completely believable white-hot fireworks between DDL and Stowe, and the (all-time great) last 25 minutes make it a movie I will never get tired of rewatching.
huge +1

music is so great.

watch the special features it's great seeing how into the role DDL got (duh) and all the work he did to really master the stuff he did in the film.

mann is such a great director.

oh and obv stowe is to die for.

edit: oh man those who wish me dead looks awesome

Great review. The representation of the French and Natives (and consequently, putting the English on a pedestal) always tilted the shyt out of me, but man the production, the music score are lead actors are amazing af

Love this movie, it’s maybe a bit overly melodramatic but I don’t care I love it. Great musical score and cinematography.

Also one of the best one liners:

“In case your aim is better than your judgment.”

Finally got around to watching Jojo Rabbit. We loved it. Not at all what I expected but I guess I didn't really know what to expect.

I know it has been discussed here a bunch but I'm super late on the Sam Rockwell fanboy train. He knocked it out of the park here.

We usually watch tv in bed for a bit and I switched it to The Green Mile Hadn't seen it in a while and I was delighted to again see Rockwell. I had forgotten much of the move including him.

The guy is just phenomenal.

what was truly horrible was the new Charlie's Angels. So boring.

Richard Jewel was also pretty boring

It's wrong in so many ways. The only character you give a f*ck about is Jena Malone's, and that's owing to Jena's magnetism - and has nothing to do with writing or direction.

There's that 1 aberrant vampire scene that just comes and goes. I couldn't finish the flick, made it like 4/5ths the way through somehow( being slightly phased on weed didn't even make it fun lol)

the director is a total pretender. He sets up that scene, wherein the 13-year-old in the adjacent room is likely getting raped, so he can pan-out from that ear-pressed-against-the-wall silhouette, and it's old af after the 1st 3 seconds.

he's a horrid 'artist' holy christ

even gave Bronson a chance, just to be thorough, and it lasted 60 secoinds - whatever that hipster opening was lmao, total garbage.

there's zero mood as well, absolutely none, despite all his trickster bullsh*t

lol panther or some crap in her hotel room... it's desultory junk

that one pulse scene at the club early was alright, but it was just another transient, superficial scene

All life is transient and superficial. And devoid of meaning. That's why people read the Bible, the best book on the planet, and believe it all.

You may now resume watching your movie.

Criterion Chanel is streaming The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T. It has the distinction of being the only film written by Dr. Suess, and I haven't seen it since I was a kid. It's mind-blowing.

I saw that movie also as a kid and much later sometime in the 1980's on late night TV. I always liked it. Interesting dance numbers and studio sets - Suessian if that is a word. If I recall correctly, one of the male leads later played a main character on Lost in Space. An epic TV series of superfluous importance for the enhancement and overall progress of humanity.
