I thought Honey Boy was one of the best movies I’ve seen in years but despite great reviews it got zero Oscar love and I haven’t heard it talked about much (in here either), anyone know why?

any rankings appreciated, I tend to like plot more than straight action fwiw.
6>4>3>5

They’re all completely different from the first. 6 is a perfect action movie, and has a solid plot, but 3 is the most plot driven. Dom’s right, though. Watch them in order.

Ilya Krzhanovsky's massive, controversial project Dau is now available online (or at least parts of it): https://www.dau.movie/en

Haven't watched his earlier movie or any of these new ones, and kinda doubt it's gonna be to my tastes, but the story behind it is very interesting:

This sounds absolutely insane. We should appoint someone to watch it and report back to us.

The New Age (Michael Tolkin, 1994)

Thought I was gonna have a hard time finding this, but then a couple a days ago I came across it while browsing Prime. Cool. I definitely liked it less than The Rapture, but it was a decent watch. With Peter Weller and Judy Davis.

The Beach Bum (Harmony Korine, 2019)

Rewatch. Love this movie. Cast is great and Benoit Debie really delivered with the visuals. Freewheeling, beautiful and ugly.

Hannah Gadsby: Nanette (2018, Jon Olb, Madeleine Parry)

Loved this. Stand-up show. On Netflix.

Shattered (Wolfgang Petersen, 1991)

Cool cast with Tom Berenger, Greta Scacchi, Bob Hoskins and Corbin Bernsen. Fairly enjoyable, ridiculous thriller with a twist.

What do people like about California Split? I watched the first half of it and it seemed like nothing was happening so I quit.

To be honest after the 1st 10 minutes it gets a little boring. But be sure to go to about 1 hour and 20 minute mark when they go to Reno and watch from then thru the end.

It's definitely not action packed, and doesn't really have much of a plot, but the acting is excellent. It's basically a character study of the degenerate gambler lifestyle. If I hadn't spent a lot of time in casinos around gamblers I might not have cared for it much myself, but I found it very interesting.

The Lighthouse - Willem Defoe and Robert Pattinson are lighthouse keepers and weirdness ensues. Not sure what to make of it all but I liked it.

Narnia Prince Caspian - Meh, I fell asleep for 30 minutes and when I woke up my kids were not watching it anymore, I finished the last hour or so and felt that I wasted my time a bit.

I was hoping it would be a ghost story or a mystery or a monster movie or have some story arc but it wasn't really any of those I don't think. Mostly it was scenes of two men conversing during their descent into total madness. Had some masterful acting and old seafaring poetic monologues with some interesting special effects (mermaid vision plus others) Grade B+.

Probably in a few years after it gets brought up again. Just don't have the time to rewatch many movies. I do want to rewatch Melancholia after it was brought up recently.

edit - I thought Robert Pattinson was great, also liked him in what little I saw of Goodtime. Interested in his upcoming movies. Is Christopher Nolans movie still expected to be released this summer?

I assumed it was a continuation of Annihilation and they *finally* reached the Lighthouse. It seemed to fit. I guess the original Keeper broke out of the ectoplasmic scribbler in the Tower. Won't be watching again any time soon.

if they let u sign up anonymously and pay with btc I'd happily subscribe but they don't care about the $1 it's just a method to force u to sign up with a credit/debit card and give them all your data and I'm over that ****.

and before u start I've never had a Facebook account and the only social media I've ever had is Twitter.
