She'd get to see Travolta in a pencil-thin mustache, which is also the highlight of this flick.

The trailer doesn't show much of them but, to my recollection, there were about 5 elaborate ones. I'm thinking about going to see it again. It really deserves a large screen and, if it's playing anywhere near where you live, go see it while it's in theaters.\

It's a 2:45 run time so don't bring a large drink unless you can hold it.

Joker was amazing. It was also very uncomfortable to watch.

Joker...

How do movies like this get made in this day and age of money grab glorified adrenaline films...

This film is as epic as any of the really great timeless movies from ANY of the really great timeless directors... Taxi Driver/Scorsese, Apocalypse Now/Coppola, A Clockwork Orange/Kubrick, anything you can name, this movie is right there with it... or much better.

I don't think of this movie as a comic book film, I think it's a horrifying psychological crime drama shrouded in a comicbook guise, and it has no peer.

The bathroom transformation is just pure magical movie a satisfaction.

I don't know who the cinematographer was on this film, but they absolutely deserve the 'the best' award from the academy right now... as does the art director... stunning stunning work. This movie also has a superb Alan brug score.

Frankly, I can not see Joaquin being given an academy award for this performance, it simply is to horrific for that society.

The movie is terrifying... and I weep for modern society.

Mandy Jeebus.....

I knew my wife wouldn't want to watch so I saw it while she was at work. When she got home she asked me what it was about. I literally could not come up with any words.

Joker was phenomenal. Cinematography, Score, Pace of film and acting all superb. Unfortunately, it's going to watch like a porno for those with mental illness and hopefully nothing comes from it. Photo finish between Phoenix and Ledger for best Joker.

Ledger who?
Frankly I never personally got the whole Ledger thing... I means he's a good actor and all, and he did pass away... but Jesus, looking and comparing this film and dark knight is like comparing a a Saturday morning cartoon with Scorsese' Taxi Driver.

Honestly, you sound like a snooty art buffoon making a statement like that.

And I don't think you are a snooty buffoon.

But to compare the two Joker performances and dismiss the acting job of Ledger as nothing special is laughable.

Ledger has memorable lines, and scenes in a half hour on screen compared to almost 120 minutes Joaquin is on screen.

Maybe Ledger isn't your favorite actor as Joker but he's widely considered the gold standard in cinema.

Mark Hamill usually is noted as the "best" Joker since he's done it quite a while.

Phoenix hasn't even had a week to present a challenge.

I quite enjoyed Joker; Phoenix's performance was phenomenal. I thought it was fascinating seeing someone transform like that and I always think it's good writing when you can empathize with someone who's doing some truly horrible stuff (ie. Walter White). The score was disturbing and I'm happy I watched it in IMAX.

I thought the Joker was real good . Joaquin Phoenix's performance is fantastic and he might be the best actor of his generation. The movie is disturbing, haunting, uncomfortable and extremely well shot.

I think my main issue with the movie is that it's too derivative of The King of Comedy and Taxi Driver so much so that it's close to plagiarism. I still think enjoyed the movie a lot and will probably rewatch TKOC and Taxi Driver this week because of it.
