Dumb move. Cut the movie in half and double the box office.

Open part 1 this weekend, then 6 weeks later drop part 2.

This movie is gonna make bank, and the investors are gonna wake up Sunday morning and realize they left a **** ton of money on the table.

They already split it in half, this is the second half.

Yep. It’s the only way to see a movie. Huge reclining seats, food, drinks, waiters, and not screaming kids.

Coincidentally, I've begun re-watching Mad Men on Netflix (one of my favorite TV series), and Rosemarie DeWitt is featured prominently throughout Season 1 as a love interest for Don Draper.

The Tribeca Film Festival is starting this weekend, the big event is, of course, a showing of the 4K “Apocalypse Now: Final Cut,” with Francis Ford Coppola in attendance. As Jeffrey Wells just pointed out on Hollywood-Elsewhere, the runtime of this new cut has been changed on Tribeca’s official site, drastically might I add, from the original 147 minutes to now a much heavier 183 minutes. WTF!?

TFF spokesperson Tammie Rosen informed Wells that “we had the wrong time on the site, but once we received the final forms we updated. No different than any other film. Simple as that.”

Wells goes on by quoting a trust-worthy source who told him that at: “183 minutes means Final Cut is 19 minutes shorter than the 202-minute “Apocalypse Now: Redux” and 36 minutes longer than the original 70mm Ziegfeld version that ran 147 minutes. So Final Cut will include the French plantation sequence — just not as much. And the rescuing the Playboy bunnies sequence — just not as much. And so on.”

Hm. I’ve long maintained that this latest version of Coppola’s masterpiece, which seems unnecesary on-paper, might be an excuse for him to start flexing his muscles again because he is about to embark on his first big studio venture since 1997’s “The Rainmaker” by finally shooting “Megalopolis” later this year, at least that’s what he announced earlier this month.

Coppola’s film will celebrate its 40th Anniversary at the Festival. It is, in my opinion, one of the 10 greatest movies ever made.
I saw the long cut in theater within the last year and posted about it, think I found it was much too long and wasn't impressed at all. (I liked the original cut on VHS/DVD when I was younger.)

I would still see this new cut if it played in a theater nearby and was convenient.

My local multiplex is playing literally nothing but Avengers on Saturday. Never seen that before. God help anyone who wants to see any other film this weekend.

And To Wong Foo is great...also has one of the best titles for anything, ever.

Avengers: Endgame

Fun movie, probably better than infinity war. Some real fun and epic suprises and good endings.

It would have been better without the big marvel cgi battle though, it could have been very different. And, captain marvel seems like a really boring/bad character.

Also the forced feminism was way, way to obvious in a scene. That was really bad.

Thor is the best part of the movie, it was pretty great and totally unexpected what they did with him.

Avengers: Endgame

If you don't care about most of the MCU movies, you won't care about this one. If you do, it was an excellent wrapup to the ~22 movie storyline. It's a top 3 MCU movie IMO, possibly #1 but that may be due to being a few hours fresh.

I did an eyeroll groan at that scene, but whatever.

On the endings of Hannibal the book vs Hannibal the movie:

Spoiler:
In the end of Hannibal at the end of The Silence of the Lamb's trilogy, the title character has become the hero in the book, but remained a villain in the movie.

Perhaps it was to maintain the status quo, with Starling as the lone hero.

I kind of disagree with this entire post, haha.

I thought Infinity War executed its idea more successfully than Endgame did. Endgame gets really bogged down by

Spoiler:
all the time travel stuff in the second act of the movie. Is that just me? It isn't really coherent.

For some reason the Thor stuff just didn't work for me, maybe it's just personal preference.

I thought Captain Marvel was perfectly utilized and Brie Larson is great. And that scene was fine. If you're really still thinking about that scene, you have some issues that you need to work out for yourself.

You could remove completely captain marvel from the movie and it wouldn't make a difference.
Spoiler:
on the whole battleground suddenly every women group and start fighting side by side for no reason than a stupid shot. If that transition into a forced female avenger movie we can expect something weak like ghostbuster and ocean reboot.

If she did anything more than what she did, the incels would complain that she was too much of a deus ex machina. Her character was used pretty perfectly.

Just saw Avengers: Endgame

Awesome. Loved it. And my 10-year old (oldest went with friends) was over the moon about it, said it was the best Marvel movie. It was fun seeing how giddy he was at certain points.
