I would consider adding Spectre of the Gun to the list. It's probably my all-time favorite.
Mine, too. Checkov was always my favorite and when he was shot dead I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Watched Measure of a Man today. It was quite good, this is one I've seen before. I don't think the judge did a good job with her performance, but Stewart was fantastic. The trial was great.
It is weird to consider Data property when he applied to Star Fleet, but I guess I can ignore that because the rest of the episode was great.

A decent mid-level episode where the Enterprise gets stuck in a minefield that converts any energy they expend into lethal radiation, slowly draining their energy as the clock ticks.

I liked this one. It had a decent script, and Levar Burton really delivered as LaForge both solving the problem and getting attracted to his hologram coworker... The opening scene is lol (LaForge trying to get jiggy with a date on a hologram beach and Hungarian violinist), but it's otherwise pretty solid.

** SPOILER IN PARAGRAPH **
And the near-final scene of Picard being a badass by steering the Enterprise out of the field with barely any power and using the gravity of the asteroids to slingshot to safety was...well...badass.
** END SPOILER **

Picard is a cool mother****er.
Patrick Stewart is solid in this one, but the plot revolves too much around technobabble. It's also weird to me that Geordi seems to be the only engineer on the ship working on solving the problem that's threatening to kill everybody. I also love the fact that Transporter Chief O'Brien only gets about one line in the entire episode, and it's one that makes him look like an enormous tool.

Picard flying the ship like a boss is worth the price of admission.

Ya, that was embarrassing. Riker would have been rounding third base within minutes.

I watched The Royale after the love in this thread. It wasn't a great episode, but it was awesome to see Data play. Hilarious!

I liked this episode too, but one thing always bothered me about it. I'm no scientist and know next to nothing about radiation poisoning, but it just makes absolutely no sense to me that if they had spent a few seconds longer in the trap they would have all died from lethal doses of radiation, but since they escaped with a few seconds to spare, they're all perfectly fine. Certainly, there must be gradations of radiation poisoning.

Star Trek TNS S3E07 The Enemy

Coherent and solid episode with three solid elements of drama: Geordi is lost on the planet with a Romulan and they are first antagonists, but have to work together to escape; a badly injured Romulan is on board and only Worf's donation can save him, and Worf hates Romulans; and Picard has to deal with an incursion of a Romulan warbird after their men.

All the elements are balanced well, and build with each other, but it's nowhere near as tense and exciting as it could have been.

Still, pretty decent.

7/10

Good point

Perhaps it wasnt the duration of time but rather the increase in radiation at the given calculated moment, I don't recall.

Watched Deja Q last night. I really enjoyed it. Q is so funny. It was also nice to see him complain about being human.

A few days ago I watched Who watches the watchers and that was fantastic. An attack on religion, but a fun one to watch.

Just watched Yesterday's Enterprise. Quite good. I prefer lighter episodes, but the time travel plot was quite good. It was also a nicer send off to Tasha Yar (not that I liked her much).

This one reminded me of some of the TOS episodes that dealt with the standoff between the Federation and the Klingons --had a real Roddenberry vibe to it throughout. I liked seeing Geordi's visor as a plot element, since it has been an underused device so far. Apparently he can detect neutrinos with that thing, which is a pretty impressive technological feat.

Also, Picard pulls off a bluff that has to be a callback to The Corbomite Maneuver from TOS.

What exactly was the 'bluff'? He just explained what he was going to do.

Watched the two-parter Best of both worlds. It was quite good. It didn't seem to be worthy of one of the best episodes of TV in history, but it was solid. I think for space opera drama I prefer Babylon 5. For fun stories (such as things involving Q or episodes like The Royale), TNG is better. I love the characters in TNG.

I guess it was more of an all-in shove; I'm not great at poker analogies.
