Chapel seems a pretty obvious answer.

Is the pointless answer the computer voice??

Haven't found the answer on IMDB yet...but I did come across this bit of trivia:

Which TOS character's middle name or initial was mentioned, other than Kirk's?

Okay, I found him:

Spoiler:
Lt. Leslile.

I have no recollection of him, and he appeared in 60 episodes. Chekov only appears in 36 and Sulu 51!

But I found someone else in the IMDB credits that I DO remember:

Spoiler:
Lt. Leslie.

He appears in 64 episodes! However, he is listed as uncredited. So is another character who appears in 52 episodes:

Spoiler:
Lt. Brent

He looks vaguely familiar to me.

I'm pretty sure it's Scotty. Montgomery F Scott or similar.

you're both wrong!

Spoiler:
Chekov's middle name was Andreievich. Aside from Kirk, he was the only original series character whose middle name (or initial) was revealed.

Chekov then?

And I'm having a hard time verifying Kirk's middle name was revealed in TOS at all....They say James T. Kirk a lot...but I'm not sure Tiberius was revealed until after the show was over.

I'm pretty sure Tiberius is mentioned. Maybe in the one where he's courtmartialled?

Yeah i was stunned he had appeared in so many episodes, yet has little/no place in Trek mythology - you would have thought having been in so many OS episodes, they could have found him an equally anonymous part in the movies!

heck of a tough question for a quiz show. If a bunch of trekkies can't get it, a layperson has no chance!

A Private Little War SEASON 2 EPISODE 19

Wiki Entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Private_Little_War

A very political episode, intended to be an allegory of the Vietnam war, with the Klingons supplying weapons on one side, and Kirk giving equal weapons to the other guys. However, the story is very slight, and we get about 20 minutes of story spread too thinly over 50 minutes, with a semi-desperate attempt to inject tension and watchability by having one hot tomale in fake orange fur bikini top, a 'mugato' (white gorilla with a horn and a tail, obviously - on loan from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, if I remember my 60s scifi shows correctly) fighting Kirk, Spock dying and needing to get a good slap-around to revive, and Kirk dying too, and a very rapey sequence near the end where the other guys get their hands on the red hot tomale...it's a hodge-podge without much drive, and has a rather unsatisfying resolution.

The red hot tomale was nice though.
