Season 1-3 are pretty horrible but with season 4 starting with the resolution of the locutus story line, season 4 has been much better.

This was probably my favourite Original Series episode.

Season 1 of TNG was very cheesy, but there are some good episodes.

Am I crazy in thinking

Enterprise > TOS > TNG > DS9 > Voyager

Haven't see seen them all. But TOS is better than TNG

I'd probably be TOS > Enterprise > (DS9 / Voyager) > TNG

I never quite got the extreme Voyager hate.

Voyager wasn't terrible, it was just that DS9 was a tough act to follow. Plus, after three series, I think Star Trek fatigue starts to set in.

The last few episodes of Voyager were solid, and the condescending holographic doctor was a fun character.

I've never even seen Enterprise. Is it worth Netflixing?

Enterprise takes place long before TOS. It is their raw beginnings into space prior to the existence of the Federation.

Unfortunately Enterprise, unlike the other Star Trek series, was killed off too soon. Think 3 or 4 seasons only.

I touched on this earlier(or the other thread)... I think what you are seeing is the Roddenberry effect. after he passed away, the next gen series really took off in my humble O. Prior to his death, I think TNG was suffering quite a bit due to his oversight. Sure he was brilliant in the original series... later on, he seemed to loose a little something.

Voyager wasn't terrible... but to be honest, I could not get into the Janeway character, so for me the series was handicapped.

Voyager does have a very high distinction though... it has the distinction of having the greatest single star trek episode every written.

A superb Science Fiction storyline that deserves to be held in greater reverence than that of a simple television show...

Voyager-Death Wish.

It seems to me that most of the Voyager hate starts with Janeway. A lot of people seem to find her accent really annoying.

Some of my thoughts, mostly in reply to posts so far...

Taste of Armageddon was a great TOS episode, for the reasons stated.

Death Wish was a great VOY episode, with a morality issue that is still present today.

Overall I rank VOY last, though it had many great episodes. I never gave it much thought, but it was likely due to my not being able to invest in Janeway, same as others here. It did also suffer from Trek fatigue, which is why there was a Trek hiatus for several years.

TNG seasons 1 & 2 were mostly unwatchable, outside of a few episodes. It really picked up with season 3 (I disagree with the poster that 3 was also bad). The same could be said for DS9 and VOY. I think these shows just take a while to get comfortable with themselves before the characters stop being so wooden and develop chemistry, which also leads to improved storylines.

Oh, and yes S4 of ENT was pretty good, had several 2-3 episode story arcs that worked well. Went out too early, but on a high note IMO (sans the series finale... ugh).

"The Doomsday Machine" I think.

It was interesting of ENT to incorporate the result of The Tholian Web into an episode of theirs.

Best Star Trek TOS episode was Amok Time, I reckon. The one where Kirk and Spock fight to the death.

My favourite TNG episode was the one where Riker commands a Klingon ship.

for me it's a toss up on Corbomite Maneuver, Let That Be Your Last Battlefield or probably The Ultimate Computer when it comes to TOS

My favorite NG episode is the one where Riker is a complete pussy. Oh wait, that's all of them.

After finishing re-watching the first season of ST:TOS, it's remarkable how well the show hit its stride right out the gate. Lots of great Trek episodes in Season 1. The Kirk/Spock/McCoy dynamic is there even in the first few episodes.

Riker was a good "boy" in The Pegasus. One of the better NG episodes.

Great episode, possibly 2nd best of S7 (behind the finale), but maybe 3rd behind Lower Ranks.
