very much agreed, show is improving a lot with her addition
i didn't understand the chatter over how hot jeri ryan is back in the day but after watching several seasons of pedestrian looking cast and she's brought in with statuesque facial structure, height and perfect body in a skin tight outfit just wow i get it now
also best part was to make room they jettisoned kes (one of the worst characters on the show) who was the old attempt at bringing in sex appeal - you could notice how they gave her tighter and more revealing outfits and went away from the childlike appearance to that of a woman in later seasons and then i guess decided to just upgrade the whole thing instead
and the nice side effect is now there's even less neelix and he's back to serving as a plot device and not a central character - which is how he should be

and apparently she's now bonkers
apparently she has multiple mug shots now, age hasn't been kind to her
but all this overt attempts at sexing up the show actually kind of makes me give some extra respect for how they treated janeway since she is actually a pretty attractive woman with a nice body but for the most part the dumbed her down and put her in noticeably baggier outfits than the rest of the cast so people wouldn't view her as a sex object imo
look at the bagginess and bunchiness
compared to this
or this when they occasionally undress her
really like how they made that choice, i legit think janeway most competent trek captain and don't think i'd have felt that way if she were wearing a skin tight outfit like others
still don't like the show's style too much
like neelix dies, happens at beginning of episode so now i know they will find some way to revive him which they later will surely forget so people will become mortal again and then they revive him immediately so now i know the episode is surely going to be about him having this existential crisis - it'd just be nice where i couldn't immediately map out what is going to happen by the end each time i'm 4 minutes in each episode
i do like though that despite getting rid of kes and altering the timeline they still go into the year of hell and since it's a new timeline without her they don't know any of the advanced intel she gave and then replicate getting that info the same way via her hotter replacement 7 of 9 - that two part episode was really well done and occasionally they'll have great gems like that get to me ignore all the nonsense
defintely improving as a show but writers occasionally f up, like we've already established neelix has never been here before and they are like 100 years travel time away from where they first started and yet they sometimes defer to neelix as the local guide forgetting he's as new here as they are and of course he still has the local info
