I'll regale you all with my latest "run in" with some girl. I was at my usual spot and this girl from some other city, visiting for a few days for the usual Hollywood reasons comes in. I go on and the MC is says: "That girl was totally smitten by your music." I look and see she's gone so move on with myself.

She wasn't gone. She walked up to me and we started chatting about this or that. I was actually sick that day, which is the perfect reason to go out, drink, and play music. She heads on out to do whatever poeple do and the MC is happy to see that she and I chatted.

"Oh, she's young, cute, probably the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. She's probably a total health nut that came here to drink her one bear every 3 months."

You realize, you are now describing the very kind of people I don't like to be around,right?

"Oh, but maybe X happens and she comes back..."

Once again, the beer is talking.

"So, what did you talk about?"

I dropped the ball. I didn't leave with her.

if a pot of gold dropped out of the sky and hit you on the head you and john would wait before picking it up hoping a bigger pot would come along.

Cool Water was/is popular. It's pleasant in the summer. Not my style, but not bad either. Many imitators.

Ray, said girl lives 2,000 miles away. Barring a miracle, I'll never see her again. Truly no loss.

She had an important event the next day. It'd be rude of me to keep her awake or pass my sickness to her.

It's summer! And the thread isn't late. But I can give you a closing song. I have a playlist devoted to songs I think would make one particular woman pleased. Unfortunately, this woman is married, but she's a fan of Herb Alpert, so the playlist consists of Alpert songs with other versions of those songs so she can hear the lyrics.
