I've had seizures since I was 41. I went ten years without one, but when docs changed meds, I had a couple. The last was two years ago until last Monday. The rule is you're supposed to be seizure free for six months before being allowed to drive.

Blood tests showed elevated enzymes, but since I was sick, the cardiologist felt the viruses affected that. The catherization showed an old blockage but nothing that required a stent.

So basically just a lot of stuff happening at once. The on call neurologist said that cough medicine could cause seizures. Of course, I didn't know that or I wouldn't have taken any.

sounds like you are a walking disaster.
hope for the best for you.

its starting to get warm. listen to zeno about the summertime thread. dont be so cruel.

Yeah, sounds like a culmination of things that stressed your system John. You are getting good medical help and that is comforting. We are all hoping you get better and can work things out transportation wise.

You will be dancing in the Summertime before you know it.

Feel better JC.
Or we'll be singing some very sad summertime blues

John, hope things get better real soon. Can you use public transportation to get to work? Uber? Might be a little expensive, though.

I can't from where I live, but I can stay with my brother during the week and catch rides or grab the bus. Unfortunately, I live 35 miles from work. I just hate imposing on people.

Geeze, what a pain in the butt, not to be able to drive.

Make a game of it, I guess. Figure out the best times and routes for public transportation. Or, get a bike.

I once went nine months without driving. It was hell. Then, though, I had plenty of people to drive me around. These days I'm going to have to move.

Get well, John Cole.

What's it like having a seizure? (If you don't mind my asking.)

Don't mind you asking at all, Charlie. I really don't know what it's like since I have grand mal seizures, so complete loss of consciousness. If standing, you fall down. I get little warning or little that I recognize as a warning, so a couple have resulted in injuries, but nothing severe. You feel tired after it's over, with sore muscles from going rigid. It's not the worst thing in the world though, and I have manged pretty well for the most part over the years.

Thanks for sharing. That sounds scary to me. Witnessing a seizure is also scary. I sometimes wondered what their real lives are like.

Well... I finally invited arm-girl to some place.

I hadn't seen her for a month since my gravy-train-wreck combo was all wreck, no gravy, and a derelict train. Anyhow, it's all silly life **** that hopefully leads to less silly life ****.

I don't have any expectations about any of this.

For the most part, I went years without having one. But the meds were causing problems, and the doc keeps increasing the new meds. I had only seen him a couple months ago and just changed to yearly appointments. Fortunately, my daughter was watching me when I had the second one last week. She's experienced with them. I am blessed to have her.

Not really a big thing. I invited her to check out an upcoming gig that I'm 100% not prepared for. I felt uncomfortable asking since that's a 50 mile drive. She said she often worked near the gig on Sunday night so it wasn't some big deal for her, so she'd like to drop by and see the show.

It's a 3 1/2 hour slot, which I couldn't fill myself, so I asked someone else we both know to do the headline spot. That's a whole other story that is getting more and more strange as the weeks go by.

It always amazes me that these million-dollar ideas constantly appear on the 2+2 forums, yet they are rarely acted upon.
04-25-2018 , 03:39 PM
silly you. not a million dollar scheme. maybe we might only make a quick few hundred thousand. i contacted barnum and bailey circus but they went bankrupt.

You are supposed to post a pic after that comment, John.

Or, you could offer Ray a nice glass of warm milk in a gesture of appeasement.

You see; I always have your best interest at heart, John.
