Time for a new draft...and sitcoms seem ripe for the picking!

Rules:

A sitcom is a television show that is mostly a comedy and whose standard episode no more than 30 minutes long.
Hour or longer shows do not make the grade. So no Ally McBeal-type shows.
Web series are eligible, if all other standards are met.
Sub-shows are eligible - shorter shows in longer anthology-type series.
Shows within a show are also eligible.

Any other rules we should consider?

Who's in?

I'm so not a TV person. I'd just be picking [undrafted] the whole time because the plot line and every character is perfect, plus the show is still ****ing hilarious and relevant after 30+ years.

I'll watch along and troll all the picks though, so I'm sort of in!

Are you drafting current and historical sitcoms, or people to be in one?

Needs more categories. Like dumbest weather forecaster, saltiest mother in law, sassiest minority etc etc

I'm thinking of just drafting shows, but if you want to come up with a draft that drafts characters, go for it.

ya much prefer shows but is there any reason need to be only sitcoms?
has there been a general tv show draft recently?

I'm down for whatever just wondering.

When you write it in all caps, "SITCOM" sounds like a cool military acronym. Like "Attention all hands: we are at SITCOM Delta, this is not a drill!"

I love old sitcoms but have never really cared much for drafts.

I'd be down but only so I could join in on the praise for Arrested Development and preach my Scrubs is worthy of a short list thing.

I once heard that Scrubs is the most realistic of the hospital shows. I'm too ignorant to know if that's true.

bojack horseman (would this have counted?)

I'll take It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for my #1 pick

not because it's the best, but it's the most likely to be sniped by someone else of the shows that I want.

Get Smart and Sledge Hammer would have been my top 2

I lead off with the Bob Cummings Show, especially those episodes where he's his own grandfather, then for my (somewhat arbitrary) second pick I'll go with Mr. Peepers.

Not wanting to get into a fight as to whether or not it was a sitcom, for my Funniest Moment To Ever Appear On Television I'll take the Worm Stampede from Rocky and Bullwinkle.

You and me are almost on the same page I think. Like I know Bob Cummings from movies like Kings Row, I know that Underdog Wally Cox was Mr. Peepers, and I loved Bullwinkle altho I don't really remember this Worm Stampede thing, but I bet I liked it.

Get Smart might be one of the dumbest shows I've ever been forced to watch. It has to be up there in the top 3 of dumb shows.

That was sort of the point of it. Created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry and it made me a Brooks fan for life. A lot of it would be the same kind of humor we see in Brooks' classic movies later on. I woulda probably picked "When Things Were Rotten" too A later Brooks effort which got an early axe. He later turned it into the movie Men in Tights which I wasn't really a fan of.

Gotta love the cone of silence
