Wife only had 1 freakout on me but it was before the pregnancy. 15 years of being on the pill followed abruptly by no pill and her **** got out of whack I guess. Was really weird and not the norm at all. Happened sometime during the 6 months we were trying, then never again.

My left eyeball has been twitching for about the last month. lol.

Just remember... during pregnancy, they're even more right than usual. Follow that and you'll be fine (relatively).

Got a few questions, or if there is a better thread please point me in the right direction.

I pick up the baby she cries. Mom picks up the baby, she's happy. Am I doing something wrong or babies just happier with mom? Cologne? My smell? What is it?

Also, when do they start:
1) teething
2) crawling
3) walking
4) talking

Also, can they get too fat? My doctor said she was a small, so we started feeding her more liberally and supplementing with formula. She gained weight pretty quickly, not I'm a bit concerned about if she can be too heavy at 2 months old. Am I being paranoid? Maybe I should talk to the doctor next week when we go for the shots.

I can hold her from the sides and she can already stand up a little, which is really cool (she was born 10/6). She can stand, but only for like 10 seconds then flops down. Then I boost her up and she tries to stand up again for about 10-15 seconds.

She's so cute. I think she's cuter than normal, but it's probably just because it's my kid.

I have a 10 month old - that's basically the extent of my credetials.

How long has it been happening? Does it happen at specific times in her routine (my baby loathes me loves mom when she wants to nurse) or in the day (babies tend to be grouchy in the evenings, like after work)

Google yo. But 6-12 months, 6-9 months, 9-15 months, 9-15 months (but really depends on how you define walking/talking)

No. She can't get too fat. Fat babies are healthy babies.

Cute :-)

She is super cute. I totally understand why people post pictures of their kids all over facebook. It's that they think their kids are objectively very cute (mine is duh) and they're doing people a favor by sharing.

My boy is about 3.5 months and has held his bottle for like 30 seconds by himself. Crazy how fast these things learn!

He rolled over from back to stomach a couple weeks ago but hasn't done it since.

Mom is a bit jealous as he seems to love his daddy more. We already have a dog who is gaga over me (and doesn't care for mama). I kinda feel bad but at the same time I'm glad him and I are bonding.

I'm taking him to the mall tomorrow (daytime) in the stroller to shop for mama's birthday this weekend. I'm sure I'll get no attention whatsoever. lol.

Definitely true. So far the first 2 months (up until the end of her first trimester) were really tough. She was a little nauseous, but the worst part was she was tired all the time. Like go to work at 7, come back at 3, watch tv, eat at 5, go lie down at 6:30 and be asleep by 8 tired. That was pretty much our routine for 2 months. The last month (she's 16 weeks today) has been a lot better, she helps around the house more and we get out and do things. But, she's still always right

Can someone explain (preferably, a female) when they are NOT right?

Pregnancy had nothing to do with it. It's either argue, or agree and get some peace. Not much of a choice in my book.

She's adorable. I've also really enjoyed reading your transition ITT from "I'm not sure I'm feeling this at all." to proud Papa.

For one thing, your baby has been a part of Mom for nine months literally. Mom's heartbeat was the sound of most of her existence so it's pretty natural.

I would think about your disposition when you pick her up. Are you tensing up at all? Have you tried to purposely relax your muscles when you pick her up? It may just take time.

It's totally normal to be completely exhausted the first trimester.

There are certainly times when I'm not right, but I'm not the arguing type.

It would help to know what you are forced to agree with her about?

FWIW, there are plenty of women that I agree are unreasonable.

People say it's life-changing, and I guess I understand now. The conversations we have at dinner have been a lot of "what if she does this..." and I'm ok with most of it. If she's gay (duh), marries someone we dislike, gets pregnant young, etc. and me and my wife agree on almost all issues. I mean, I think it'll be hard when it happens, but right now we're in baby mode, so it's different.

There will be a time shortly where we'll have to figure out what her limits will be. I don't want her spoiled, but I don't want her to not have things. I don't want to be too easy on her, but I don't want to push her too hard and her hate me. If I have to sell the house to send her to Stanford, I would.

Of course, that's 20 years from now. So.. lets get through year 1 first. Hah.

Set up an ESA for her. May still have to liquidate your house though in 20 years.

Blood test just came in and my wife is 5 weeks pregnant. We had been doing fertility treatments for a year and decided to take a break. Of course, it works once we had pretty much given up.

I'm gonna read through the thread, and I will come back with a million questions I'm sure. I can't even believe how excited I am right now!

Little girl turns one today, hard to believe it's already been a year. Babies really do make your life complete.

2 words. Diaper Genie.

First few months are a little rough. I'm not a patient person, but I'm extremely patient with my daughter. She can cry and cry and it doesn't bother me, which I NEVER thought would happen. (Admittedly, I never really liked kids much). Don't get me wrong, I'm still not good with a room full of children, but it's gotten much better.

After about week 8-12, things start getting more "on schedule". She sleeps pretty much through the night except for maybe 1 feeding. Thank God my wife takes care of most of that stuff.

All in all, it's great. Lot of work, but really rewarding. It's a strange feeling to have your child as the first and last thing you think of every single day, considering the way I was.

Olivia was two in November. They came over for dinner Friday evening. My daughter said she cheered as they came in the driveway. Jackpot! Nana & Grandpa's house!

She's sick now though. They're so pitiful when they're sick.

hahahaha look how cute she is with the cupcake.

I visited a day care today and a kid came up and hugged me. Almost made me choke up. Kids are really a beautiful thing, and it made me realize a very lucky thing if they are healthy.

It's the only thing you can ask for. The rest is your job.
