Cadence just had her 3month checkup today. (3months8days actually) and she is in the top 95th percentile of growth. Here she is with her baby friend who was born 1 week ahead of her (although she was a bit premature) just a monster compared to her

Anywho...my gf's period was a few days late so she took a test and it said YES+. She is 5weeks 1 day according to this birth chart, due date NOV 7th. Definitely waiting until shes past the 3month mark to start telling family/friends. Hopefully all goes well.

Conceived on Valentines Day obv.

I am strongly considering waiting until it's born to find out what it is.

Here is my theory: I reallllllly really want it to be a boy this time. If I find out at 18 weeks that it's a girl this time, that's an extra 22 weeks of waiting that i'll have to do before I can do something about it.

Probably a dumb way to look at it, but it makes sense to me. I'm also considering letting them put the answer in an envelope and giving myself the option of opening it or not opening it when I want.

Labor last time sucked to sit through. This would keep the process more fun imo, and the adreneline rush of it coming out and finding out right there would be pretty cool to expierence I think.

nope. if this one is a girl i am doing that invetro fertilization thing where you have them inject only male sperm.

kinda dumb to play $18,000-$20,000 on something that you had a 51% chance of getting anyway, but there's noway I can risk going girl girl girl...there's just noway.

Hopefully this one is a boy though so I don't even have to worry about it.

She had breast milk for the first month or so then formula since then. Do formula babies grow faster or something?

If you are expecting I highly highly recommend going to babycenter.com and watching their virtual videos about the babies development.

They have videos for weeks 1-9/10-14/15-20/21-27/28-37. There about 2 minutes long each and pretty informative. I always find myself going to them at night and rewatching them.

To view them click on pregnancy and go down to birth videos.

Yeah, between that and the 2nd pregnancy, that was a big tip-off. Not that there's anything wrong with it or anything. Formula babies tend to be heavier. Not sure if they grow taller. I guess it's easier to get calories in formula? My son was huge at birth, is more "average" in weight, although comparing him to formula babies might be what's holding him up. I've seen some fat babies out there. He's near the top of the chart for length and head size, just average weight.

It's easier for a baby to drink from a bottle than from the breast, so bottle-fed babies often will keep taking milk beyond what is necessary to sate their hunger. And yeah, the growth charts are definitely based on formula-fed infants.

Is it based on formula or whatever population mix there is?

more that they were created at a time when the great majority of infants were formula fed, iirc.

It's a Boy!!!

Baby Gabriel Beckett arrived yesterday evening at 6:11pm EST, measuring 21 inches, and weighing in at 7lb. 10oz. Mom and baby are resting and doing well. Dad is completely lost!

Congratulations JinX11!

Olivia aka Babycakes came to stay with grandma & grandpa this weekend. She's 4 months now. New behaviors:

- Lifts herself up on her arms when on her tummy. Getting ready to crawl.
- Really wants to be mobile. Will roll herself around on the floor to get to where she wants to be.
- She'd been chewing, but now she's chewing everything.
- She's starting licking things. Hmmm. What does this taste like?

She slept from 10 pm to 8 am. My daughter & SIL run good.

Picture is a little blurry. My fault.

I just stumbled on this thread and have wasted a good twenty minutes of grinding time scrolling through the cute pictures of kids. Is this where anyone can go to brag about their kiddos? If so, i'm in.
