Re: booze while preggo...

When I was 6 months I went on a trip with my parents (sans hubby) for a national Veteran's organization convention. My Dad is kinda a big deal in this org and I pretty much grew up in front of all these people. We go to a fancy dinner hosted by Chinese dignitaries and there are little teeny tiny shot glasses. My dad is kinda an alcoholic (actually, most of the Vets there are) so as the hosts would come around and fill up the shot glasses (and fill them up again and again they did) to toast he made me accept them so he could have two.

As we all piled onto the bus back to the hotel, more than one of the old lady guests looked at me in disgust. Thanks Dad.

Lol, I didn't realize you were pokerwifey and tried to puzzle out how you were able to accept anything at 6 months old.

The Mrs. is/was due yesterday, nothing happening yet. Really figured she'd pop last weekend when I rolled my bump and run car.

Youtube video of the rollover if you want to hear a 9 month pregnant lady scream like a little girl. Her idea to go racing over the 4th, I wanted to stay home lol.

My wife's in labor!!!
We're sitting at Panera!
Amidst the late morning geriatric crowd. She needs to dialate more and put on her bloody show.
I took pix of some old ladies and my wife in labor sitting at Panera and also of the creepy, sly late 40s looking guy with slick thinning black hair, who posted himself and his laptop up in a prime spot near the entrance to gawk at all the young high schoolish tookie that struts in. And man does he get a look. Dirty pervert. (I'm going to grind here from now on, its quite a scene.)

So anyways yeah, excitement. This is my first offspring!
I can't get the pix to upload now so i'll have to do the full TR later, after the stork comes. Wish me luck not passing out and losing control of my excretia!!!

Just found this. Will read through the whole thread over the weekend.

My wife is due on Dec 2/2010. It's our first (and possibly only since I'm 40).

Sitting at the hospital right now. My wife is past two by a couple of weeks, so they had us come over for an induction.

I really shouldn't have opened this thread. I need to start avoiding cute kid related things so I don't want one.

So I shouldn't post the picture of the infant ballerina outfit I bought for my granddaughter?

Definitely not. I don't know if my logic can withstand that level of cuteness.

Whenever we'd encounter a newborn, my husband would ask in mock horror, "You didn't smell it, did you?"

So past that now though. Let the kids have the kids and do the hard part!

Son born!
Healthy 7 pounder!
Excuse me for my rambling, disjointed post the other day.
It was very bizarre to know that my wife was (technically) in labor, having painful contractions, and there we were, killing time, eating breadbowl soup, pickles, chips, etc. After Panera, we walked around the mall (where she would seize up in pain and have to double over, and even get on the floor to brace herself.) We finally decided it would be best for her to endure at home, where we sat for i think 7 more hours. By the end of things, her labor lasted 29 hours.

The actual childbirth, and everything after she got her epidural, went quite smoothly. She pumped that person out like a champ. Her gynecologist made sure to tell me that she is "well-equipped to have a much larger baby." No screaming, no cursing at me in the voice of Satan, or otherwise, thankfully, just focused, concerted baby-expelling.

I did my part by holding one of her legs, her mom held the other, and her sister, who had to have an emergency C-section last summer wherein her one and only son was born without breath (technically dead-he's just fine now though =),) who unfortunately won't be having any more children, got to witness the beauty that a natural childbirth really is. I wasn't grossed out very much. I was deeply moved. I feel quite lucky to have experienced this universal thrill. Also, her gynecologist was impressed with my umbilical snipping skills.
["The cords of all link back, strandentwining cable of all flesh."]

We've all been home now for a couple of days. He cries and poops and eats and eats and eats(drinks) and sleeps. So far its still pretty fun. he's started crying right now...

My 2nd child was born 11:44pm Monday night. Mama was induced and had her water broke around 1 in the afternoon, and from there not much happened. We went from dialated to 3 and nothing happening to childbirth in under 15 minutes BAAAAAAM, that quick. I was playing on Bodog and talking to her family on Facebook one minute, the next I've got a son.

He's 21 inches, 7 pounds 11 ounces and doing great. We are home now, watching the Tigers game and relaxing. I'm missing my daughter like crazy right now, we shipped her down to her grandma and papas for a few days, she'll be home tomorrow though. I called earlier and talked to her for awhile and wished her a happy 4th birthday.

So your kids have the same birthday?

That'll save on party expenses.

lol, close.

July 19th and 21st. So close enough IMO for joint birthday party. Apparently if you go back 9 months or so, there's a pretty good time around my house.

Wow congrats on the son bro.

On a side note my father told me if I weighed 7pounds 11 ounces he had talked to my mom and he had full intentions of making my middle name be Slurpee!
