My girl is far simpler to deal with than the boy. Boy is a pain in the ass.

Girl: 5 Boy: 2

Hi everyone. It's been a while since I posted here. The site is blocked at work and like Casper I play a lot less poker now than I used to.

The Warden and I gave our son, Charlie, baby food (peas) for the first time yesterday. I can't believe how much this little guy has changed my life. Looking back, I'm not so sure that I would like my former self all that much.

Charlie is almost 8 months old now. He's a big lad, off the charts for length/weight (107th percentile, whatever that means and 80th percentile for weight) and loves playing rough with daddy.

The Warden has begun drug treatment for her MS, and so far so good. She seems to have more energy and her symptoms are much more manageable. She has her bad days, but Charlie helps her through them.

I'll post some pics of the big fella when I can get some onto photobucket. Thanks to Dcasper for nagging!

LFS and his children make me really hope I have something that magical to look forward to. His daughter's love for his son is just way too cute.

My stepmother found out last week that she'll be having a boy. Due in November.

If you're talking about me, I have been reading this thread since its creation. Obviously I have neither wife nor potential carrier for my offspring so y'all have to provide the procreation. But man, this thread is probably the best one on 2p2. I really feel like every one of you is going to be a great dad (or mom!) for your kid(s).

Also this pic is amazing if for nothing other than Jack's shirt. Fantastic. I would set it as my wallpaper if it weren't a slightly weird thing to do.

lol, no problem. I started a thread in ATF about 'what's your favourite thread ever', and this was mine in that OP.

Yarrr!!

I've been avoiding spamming this thread with pictures, but I'm in single-dad mode for the next 5 days, so I figure I can get away with posting a couple. The SSNL Life thread was particularly fond of this one .

She's 13 months old now. Walking, talking, and pooping in the potty. She's so much fun.

My little girl is 7 next week. I took her to get a new bike today. It's a pretty pink one!

Infant potty training. You can google for it and fine a bunch of info online, although a lot of the websites are full of nutcases. There are some decent books too. She's been mostly potty trained since she was about 1.5 months old. We get an average of ~1 poopy diaper per month.

I can type up some details, but it basically involves figuring out when the kid's going to go potty (when they're really young, it's very obvious; whenever they wake up is a good start .. evelyn would also start grunting when she had to poop), then rushing to get her onto the potty at that time. Then you start associating sounds with it. We made a "pssssss" sound when she was peeing and a grunting sound when she was pooping. Then, after we'd done the sound association thing for long enough that she was expecting it, we'd try to anticipate when she'd need to go (right after nursing, e.g.), get her to the potty ahead of time, and make that sound.

It's kind of self-reinforcing, because it turns out that Evelyn doesn't like a messy diaper. It makes sense too, given that diapers are a relatively recent invention.

Dear new parents: do this! You'll appreciate it even more than your Ergo.

Samantha is now 17 months old. It's amazing how much she is changing every day. A few months ago she was having trouble walking more than a few steps...now she runs non-stop from the moment she gets up in the morning. She still doesn't say much, but she understands just about everything we say to her.

Anyone still post in this thread?

I'm scheduled to have my first little one on 12/6/09. Find out in a couple weeks if it's a boy or a girl. The "I'm going to be a father" thing still hasn't quite sunk in yet. When does it?

I'm done for, she's going to have daddy wrapped so far around her little finger. We had a boy name already picked out, but we're still up in the air for a girl.

My 6mo boy goes in the sink everyday. Still has accidents and we have to pick up on subtle signs or get in a good rhythm.

Whenever he starts to walk we'll keep a potty around and it will hopefully be an easy transition since he isn't used to sitting in wet clothes.
