Well everyone, the wife is 5 days overdue. We went to the Dr. today, and he decided to induce her tomorrow (The 3rd of September) at 5:30 a.m. Hopefully my next post on here will be to post pictures of our newborn.

I still find it amazing that this thread has been around long enough for some of us to make multiple appearances in it.

It definitely makes me smile thinking about that fact.

Grats to all the new additions!

Jordan is doing well, she will be 4 months old next week. I have some great new pics of her but don't have access to them at work. Will try to post then in next few days.

And her growth has not slowed down at all yet. She is now 21lbs and my wife is in need of a chiropracter.

Jesus. My daughter will be 2 years old next month and is probably barely over 20 lbs (she hit 20 at her 18 month doctor's visit).

Yeah, she is a whopper. She is chubby but she is tall also. She was 24 1/2 inches at her 2 month visit. Almost off the percentile charts on height. She is way off the charts on weight.

We went in at 5:30 A.M. filled out the normal paperwork, and they hooked her up to the IV's and started putting Pitocin in her, to start the contractions. After about 3 hours, I start a DVD for me and my wife to watch, the Dr. says she should probably go into labor mid to late afternoon, so we think its going to be a while. As soon as I put the DVD in, my wife starts grabbing the bed, and yells that she's having a contraction. Its her first real labor contraction of the day, and her water burst. From here on out she has horrible contractions until they give her an epidural. Then she slowly dilates to 6cm, in about 4 hours, so were there just talking around noon, and the baby's heart rate starts to drop to about 80 at the peak of every contraction, and picks back up after its over. They start preparing for labor because they're scared the baby is in trouble, and they checked her dilation and she went from 6cm to a full 10cm in about 25 minutes. Then everything happened so fast, she pushed through about 7 contractions and out came our beautiful baby girl. I got to cut her cord and wash her, and the first day was hectic with all the family and friends coming by.

We left from the hospital after about 27 hours of being in the hospital from birth, and went straight to Wal-mart to fill a prescription, and walked around there with her. She didn't cry or whine, at all. She's been a great little baby so far. The only problem was last night she was still throwin up some amniotic fluid she swallowed in labor. We think its all out, and the Dr. said its normal up to 48 hrs for that to happen.

We're roughly four weeks out and my wife is BITTER. Much more than from baby #1. Carrying a very active 6-7 lb weight around and getting kicked constantly must totally suck, because hearing about it every ten minutes bites ass and must be like 1/100th as bad as experiencing it.

On another random note, my local Costco (Glendale) had the Britax Marathon carseat for at least $50 less than typical retail, if you need a carseat and have a Costco near you it might be worth checking.

Well I can't be MIA! My beautiful daughter Chloe Rose Leong was born on February 18th. Today she is 7 months old and doing very well. Fed her some banana today. Man does baby food taste awful!

Finally! My wife was due on 9/24 and they decided to induce on Wednesday. Went in Wednesday at 8:30 and gave her some medication. We actually got a pretty good night's rest. They broke her water and started the pitocin at 11am. Epidural in place at about 8pm, pushing at about 1am. Baby boy arrived at 3:15am, Friday, 10/3.

Aaron Jason (A.J.)
8lbs, 6oz
21 inches

We are still at the hospital, so I will post some pics when we get home. Some have mentioned this already, but I can't imagine having to go through what my wife went through. Everyone is healthy, but my wife got tore up pretty bad and will not be allowed to lift anything but the baby for the next 6 weeks.

MasterShake!

Congratulations!

I just wanted to say this thread is my favourite one on this whole site.

And as I occasionally do in this thread, I'd also like to make you new dads aware there is a thread about the experience of becoming a father for the first time that you might like to read - but be aware if contains good and bad stories:

Two years ago today I started this thread.
I remember being scared out of my skin at the thought of being some little girl's father.

I can't believe 21 months has come and gone so fast. She's so big now, has a vocabulary of 100 or so words, and loves to make her dad laugh.
Sometimes, while playing on the floor, she'll just jump up, run over, sit on my stomach and start bouncing. Even when it hurts, I can't stop giggling like a kid.

She's making me a better person than I thought possible. I hope I do a good job.

As for this thread, just how fantastic it has turned out!

Congratulations everyone!!!

Jack Theodore was born at 2:51PM today.
Nine pounds, nine ounces.
Twenty inches long.
Mother and son are doing great.

Random thoughts:

- I get why some people are into natural childbirth. My wife and I are not those people. We are scheduled c-section people, and we embrace our status. Boy, was that easy: check into the hospital at 1:00, baby within a couple of hours.

- Compared to baby #1, this was like running out to the supermarket to buy some milk. I am super-duper-stoked, but I wasn't nervous in the least. I spent hours marveling at the miracle of life the first time, this time I was like "Cool!"

Agreed with all of this. I have no intentions of having kids in my lifetime but a thread like this humanizes so many faces I've seen online and I like it when people are as happy as their kids make them.

She's a cutie, decasper. She looks like a good bouncer too.

LFS,

Congratulatons on little Jack. Is that him in your avatar? Nice looking baby! So do you have one of each now or two little boys?

That's him (new pic from today). I have one of each: a three and a half year old girl, and now the newborn.

Took my daughter to meet her little bro this afternoon. Mommy was NOT doing well - hadn't really slept last night, was having trouble breastfeeding, Jack wouldn't stop crying, and hormones were a-raging. Jack, it turned out, needed to burp, so once I got that done he fell quickly asleep and we sent him to the nursery. Got my wife a burger from Jerry's, she's probably asleep by now too. Now I'm home and making my daughter dinner. Daddy to the rescue!

Thank god for dads! I'll bet you can't wait for mom and Jack to come home. Sorry to hear that your wife wasn't feeling well today. Hopefully she can get a good rest and feel much better tomorrow. She's been through a lot.

p.s. I just love the cheeks on that little baby! Soooo cute

p.p.s. I just learned in my Child Psychology class that newborns have very sharp sense of hearing, taste, touch and smell at birth. Your little guy should get binocular vision around 14 weeks.
