Poincaraux - Evelyn Rose is a great name!

Crookdimwit - Another really beautiful name, "Isabella". I just love this profile picture. Never seen one quite like it. Awesome.

Congratulations!!!!!

She's an incredibly gorgeous baby poincaraux she doesn't even have the wrinkliness most newborns have. Pink is a great color on her.

Here's an early song in her honor. You're gonna need this advice in about 16 years.

My wife is still hanging in there. Went to doc on Mon. and she is still only 1.5 cm dilated. So unless something happens before then, we are going into hospital on Sun. afternoon and they are going to give her something to help soften the cervix. Then going to induce labor on Mon. morning. So now my wife is offically a basketcase.

If you can, try to mentally prepare her for a c-section. My wife was induced and it didn't really work (increased the dilation slightly, but she was still nowhere close). Rather than sitting around another 24 hours in the hospital to try again, she had a c-section.

Good thing, too. The baby would have come out tush-first.

Sorry I don't have pics in the computer yet but, let me tell you guys my war story from Friday morning.

I have two children already, so I've been down this road before, I know the drill...

But, with this one... we got there at 8:30am at 5cm already.

The epidural took six tries, they couldnt find the spot... I was like WTF, this was never a problem before but, whatev.

Then she is 6cm... she starts screaming like its "time". The nurses poo-hoo her and say that it isnt time and try to relax.

Her doctor is in an emergency c-section so she isnt in the room.

Then, my wife starts making the "push face" and I run out of the room and say.. "She is pushing! Get someone in here!"

A nurse walks in, puts on a glove and jams her hand in my wife's crotch... she say "only 6cm, its not time".. my wife says "BULL****, I hafta push!!"

The nurse smirks and says "Go ahead and push then".

She pushes and the nurse screams out "TABLE!!!"

Long story short, my daughter came out in one shot like out of a cannon!

No doctor but, 4 nurses there... it was close to me having to do it! (that would have been sick!"

Yeah, we have talked about that already. Told her if it doesn't seem to be working probably best just to have the c-section.

Well, chalk up another multiple entry on the 2+2 tally board.

Child #2 due Christmas Eve.

Let's see...I take care of the kid all day, work at night, and get no sleep. My New Year's Resolution: kill myself.

The plan was to have the kids three years apart - I guess two years, two months will have to do.

Holy crap! You should have brought a catchers mitt with you.

That's always interesting when there are about 85 people sticking their hand up the wifes crotch and checking out her nether regions, isn't it! Pretty hard for a gal to be real shy after childbirth.

LOL, yeah right! It's like "come one, come all, step right up dont be shy!".

But, the worst was our first delivery back in March 2005.

My daughter's hand was beside her head thus blocking the exit.

The doctor grabbed these huge scissors and not-so-danitily took a generous SNIP to her nether region.

I was just standing there holding her leg with my mouth agape like "OWWWCH!!"

Yep, been there, done that.
Tell the truth though, did you slip the doctor an extra $100 and tell him to put an extra stitch or two in here when he was fixing the SNIP?

After 30 hours of being poked and prodded, which 16 of so were spent in labor and the last 3 of those pushing and having vacuumns and forceps used on her, they finally decided to give my wife a c-section.

So baby was finally born last night at 9:43. She is a little whopper at 9lbs. 14oz and 23 1/4" long. I have always told my wife she was a big baby when it came to any kind of pain but she definitely earned my respect the last 2 days with all she went through.

Here is Jordan Leigh.
