6 Month Update

Dcasper70 asked for a 6 month update. Just a little late, my daughter turned 7 months yesterday.

It's been the most awesome experience of my life, so far. I can't stress enough how much I love my daughter and the effects she has had on me as a person. I was one of those guys that wondered if he ever wanted childern because I thought I'd never be READY. Let me tell ya, you'll never be ready but it's been fun.

I just love that she'll stop whatever she's doing to look for me when she knows I've come home from work.

Sorry for the rambling. I just can't seem to put together coherent thought right now. Let me just end it with: Parenthood is the greastest thing that can happen to a person.

A couple of recent photos. Sorry for the "proof" thing. I'm at work and those are the only ones I have available right now.

Dear 2+2,

I am both incredibly happy and incredibly nervous to announce that my wife is pregnant. The second trimester begins either today (Monday the 29th) or tomorrow (Tuesday the 30th), depending on how you count things. So, the official due date is in May, but we're inducing around 38 weeks (April 25th).

After Allan's stillbirth and a subsequent miscarriage, we're officially "high risk" now, so we've had a lot of appointments, including 5 ultrasounds so far. The little one is *very* cute . At the last ultrasound appointment, the technician was nice enough to hit the 3D/4D button .. wow, that stuff is simply amazing!

Like Ken_AA, we got a fetal doppler monitor for peace of mind. We also got a KickTrak, an awesome little device that helps with kick counting. I don't really feel like preaching here, but I'll just mention that good scientific research has shown that kick counting reduces the risk of stillbirth.

As they say on the internet,

LET US GOGOGO

-poin/michael
Poin, that is some of the best news I've heard. Congratulations!

Congratulations Sotiria, RR and Poincaraux! I'm excited for the 3 of you.

BlackAces, dlk9s and Ballzack - your daughters are so cute. (love the halloween outfit on Audrey )

Elwood Blues has some amazing little twins there, Anna and Emma. I've never known anyone who had twins! Looks like a lot of work.

Happy Birthday to Ethan, Mihali (Sept), and Parker (Aug) and Cullen (1 yr!). Nice looking boys, all of them. (Chipwrecked kids have blond hair. I thought Chip was a brunette.)

sorry if i left anyone out. 2+2ers make awesome babies.

p.s. Ballzack's daughter kills me in that sweater skirt outfit. Is that adorable or what? We don't even have a name for this little cutie.

Agreed. I definitely am rooting for poin to have no scares in the coming months. Definitely awesome

And, of course, congrats to all new expectants and new parents since my last post. This thread is just so wonderful. Special congrats to Zameus for being the most recent!

Seriouely Kcheel, if you have your newborn on May 11th, that would be a good thing. I highly recommend it as a great birthday!

Congrats kcheel!

That's my birthday too. So if she/he hits that day, tell her a guy from Germany said happy birthday. Well, tell her anyway. And to everyone else: congratulations!

I can't officially post in this thread, but girlfriend and I are in the "practicing" stage..

Actually....

Seriously, congrats. Looks like we're both gonna have a long winter of anticipation. I don't know if it will be a confidence builder for you or not, but I will share that my wife has been moved out of the high risk group after her quad screen came back "normal" this time. There can be joy after tragedy. Hang in there.

Just awesome.

Been a while since I've posted. I've been fixing up the house to make room for the baby. I have recently been able to feel him kicking through my wife's stomach and also swear I felt his little ass move directly across the center off her belly. It's incredible that there is this little human just swimming in there. It's almost like science fiction.

Taurus men are awesome Solo. One of my favorite zodiac personalities. They are hard workers and never complain. They tend to remain calm in the face of chaos. Also, they keep a tidy room. The main thing Kcheel needs to remember is that a Taurus child can be stubborn and might get upset by too much change in his life. So you know, just keep things on a steady course and don't go around upsetting him.

Congratulations to jamzfive and poincaraux! I am happy for both of you

Acoustix - I was actually referring to the name 'Laila'. Isn't it cute... Laila Ballzack? So tell us what you are doing at your house, building a nursery are you?

Hey all,

Thanks for the thoughts and good wishes! It's pretty nerve-wracking at times, but the good things are finally starting to sink in a little. We're looking forward to an ultrasound scheduled later this week where we *may* be able to find out if it's a he-baby or a she-baby.

jamzfive-

My wife's tests are very good too. The nucal translucency screen came back as "you have the same risk as a teenager" . After a stillbirth and a miscarriage, though, we're going to be high-risk the whole time. That's just fine with us .. as far as we're concerned, it just means extra monitoring . I imagine it might be a long winter for both of us .. shoot me a PM if you ever want to talk or anything. Also, I mentioned the KickTrak in another post .. we got like 20 of them from the doctor that invented them, and I'd be glad to send you one. In any case, my best wishes are with you and your wife.
