Looks like once moldman takes care of business, there will be a lull in the action for a few weeks.

Daniel Magix, keep us in the loop. I'll bump this thread in a few weeks if you don't beat me to it...

By the way, DCasper, you know how the baby clothes come in sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months, etc? Well, be sure you have some 3-6 month sizes handy 3 months from now. The clothes makers know what they're doing. My little girl turned 3 months this weekend and she grew out of most of her 0-3 month clothes in the past week. I'm surprised I didn't actually see her grow.

Get ready to be tired.

We're in waiting mode here.. Baby #1 was 5 days early, and looks like #2 is compensating by coming in late. Wife still feeling fine, but is definitely ready.

First time she did it all without medication, and she wants to do it the same way this time. Since it was brought up a bit earlier, I'll just mention that we used the Bradley method and worked great the first time around. Personally, I'd prefer to be drugged up a bit, I'm not the one delivering, so I just supported her and did all I could and it worked out great. Hopefully this time will be just as good.

The newest addition to our family arrived at 8:04am Friday, a swift 15 minutes after getting to the hospital. Brandon was 7lbs 13oz and healthy and we're all doing fine (except for my back after sleeping on this cot in the hospital room).

Congrats moldman!

Agree to go ahead and get 3-6 month clothes now. My son is almost 3 months and he's pretty much into 6-9 month stuff now! He's a big little fella!

Let's see if this image thing works. Here's the little fella who is currently chilling and watching the Super Bowl with his eyes closed. (He's just concentrating real hard to learn the game.)

Thanks Katy. He wasted no time in coming out once he made up his mind to do it, so he didn't incur too much damage coming out. As for the looks... he owes his mom a lot of thanks.

Sorry for the late post, but congrats to all the new parents. It's not every day that you experience something that totally changes your life in such a profound way. You find a kind of love that you never knew existed, when you have a child.

Dcasp, I told my wife about your baby pool, and how you posted an update here that your wife's water apparently had just broken. She told me that if her water broke, and I made a post on 2p2 before getting her to the hospital, she would basically smash my laptop over my head.

I guess I am next on the list. Due date is March 3rd, but we are very sure that she will arrive at least a week early.

I am very excited, but seriously dreading the sleepless nights. My boy is almost 2.5 and has been sleeping right through the night for a nice long time now. But for his first several months, he was collicky (sp?) and things were rough, sleepwise. Here we go again!!

I have 2 children (2.7 yrs and 9 months) and the one thing I found to be the biggest help with battling collick and sleepless nights was a book by Dr. Harvey Karp called "The Happiest Baby on the Block". I saw him on Oprah once (when you are expecting for the first time, you do a lot of very unexpected things) and it was amazing how he could calm a crying baby. The book was amazing and everyone I've recommended it to has thanked me afterwards.

Any other parents on this board use it?

You can read reviews here for it: Happiest Baby on the Block

Yes! We saw a huge difference after just the first night. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with a baby that has trouble falling asleep or settling down.

Thanks to Dcasper who saw my reference to my pregnant wife elsewhere and shot me a PM - had no clue there was a thread around this! Figured I'd join the party...

First, congrats to those who have had their kids. And sympathies to Hopey, Jamzfive and others who've had troubles... I felt a huge range of emotions reading through this thread, tearing up a few times for different reasons.

Wife and I are expecting our 1st on 5/25/07 - a boy we're going to name Will (after my father, William). He's the 1st grandchild on my side, the 6th on the wife's side.

She's just starting her 3rd trimester, and is getting HUGE! Seriously, she's larger than a few women at work who are 1-3 months further along. And I'm really starting to feel the baby kick and squirm around under her skin...

Fun stuff...

It has begun...

My wife is 2cm dialated -went to the doctor's today and he said "there is a good chance that you will be in labor by the morning"! If she isn't having contractions by 8am tomorrow, I was planning on going to work, since I work for a magazine and we are on deadline next week. But the thing is, my work is about 24 miles away (50 minutes average commute). This is our second child, and I heard that the second labor can go fast. I am sure that in the middle of the day, I can speed and do the commute in 30 minutes or less (all backroads), but I'm wondering if it would be wiser just to not go in tomorrow and play it safe. Well, I hope she's having contractions or there is some water breakage going on in the morning - that will make my decision easier! For now, I wait...

When her water breaks, post here...

Then immediately hide your laptop.

Good Luck!!!

Casper,
I haven't been around in a while, so let me give you a late congrats. Hope everything is ok and the wife lets you out for cards and golf here and there this spring.

Oh and my God does that kid look like you. If you photoshop a goatee on her, it'd look like you with a pink knit cap on.

Tell your wife I said congrats too.

Edit to say I only saw the first picture before I posted. Grow the goatee back so my post makes sense.

To those with newborns/fetuses...

...mine is 3.5 months now (see above) and is just getting over her first cold. Mommy gave it to both the baby and me. Enjoy that when it happens!

P.S: Go buy Tylenol Cold Infant Drops now so you don't have to in the middle of the night.
