She could be born during the Superbowl.
LOL. I have had it happen a few times where dads are more into the sporting event on the tube than coaching mom.

One delivery, a preemie delivery, so the OB, neonatologist, dad and the nurses were all pretty preoccupied with I believe a college basketball final, while mom is huffing and puffing, but also watching the game between pushes.

Due 4/27/06 (she's 12 weeks)
sex TBD

Anyone care to share their thoughts about finding out the baby's sex? We're leaning towards finding out.
Only find out if you REALLY don't care what sex it is. When you see it, you will love it no matter what and won't care; but if you find out it is a girl and want a boy (or vice versa) you will be disappointed (if only for a moment) and that's no fun.

Well Isabella Marie was born 2 days early on Tuesday the 22nd at 10:45 p.m. It was a pretty fast birth which lasted 3 hours with no complications or problems what so ever. She is 8 lbs 13 ounces and 19 3/4 inches long with a full head of hair. Sorry no pictures for now because I haven't been home yet where the plugs for the camera are. I'll edit later this week to include pictures.

After the birth she was checked for spina bifida (they thought during our first ultrasound that the spine wasn't enclosed properly and she had a lemon shaped head which after a specialist did a more in depth ultrasound found to be no worries). Mommy and the baby will have to stay in the hospital 48 hours for observation because they both have O negative blood, which from what I could comprehend after no sleep and trying to keep up with the explanation, the blood cells may think certain things in the body are infections and try to kill it off, but is just routine for people with that type of blood.

All in all it went great and is the most amazing thing to ever experience. Nothing could or will ever compare.

So in about 16 years you can find or write to me at the local penitentiary as that will probably be around the time my daughter brings home some guy that will inevitably drive me crazy.

Also this is my second child (I also have a 3 year old boy). Just seen that it said #1 in the list.

Good luck and congrats to the parents to be on the list and future parents.

Hmm my computer must have saved a friends account on here, so this is Johnwit I'm next on the list

LOL I will. She also had a 45 min. nap. I better stop before I get a bunch of wives coming to beat up the new mommy.

Sweet, I am moving up towards the top of the list. The doctor just told my wife today, “this baby is ready, she will be early”!

The realization of having a baby girl is sinking in. In the year 2020, I will have a teenage daughter. That's some scary stuff right there. Fortunately, her older brother should easily reach black belt in Jujitsu by then (and various other MMA techniques), and he can kick the ass of anyone who tries to touch her. OK, I feel better now.

Congrats to all the new parents... and dcasper, you are on the countdown!

BTW, my boy Jay is now more than 16 pounds at 2 1/2 months! We're hoping for 'power forward' as opposed to 'nose guard.' He's a big fella.

Look at this!

We're just past our 1st trimester. Due August 2/07.

At the moment we're not finding out the sex. I hope to find out... my wife doesn't. Though this isn't something I'll have a fight over. Not that important.

kurto--

My suggestion to you is to attend every single ultrasound and keep your eyes peeled. With our first we both didn't want to find out, but sometime during my level 2 ultrasound my husband suddenly blurted "We're having a boy!" Apparently, only boys have penises and our baby had one. So, don't ask the ultrasound technician, don't upset your wife, go to ultrasound and look for a penis. Oh and don't blurt, if she really doesn't want to know, just keep it to yourself.

If you don't see anything, it doesn't mean you're having a girl. Sometimes the baby isn't in the right position to see and sometimes, well let's just say some babies are underendowed. Not to mention ultrasounds can be hard to read for us normal folk. But on the off chance you see a penis, you can be sure it's a boy.

BTW, I can sympathize with all of you. I'm 20wks, due on June 17 with number 2. Ultrasound tomorrow, so we'll see...

Uh huh. Our first son was estimated at "about 7 lbs" late in the pregnancy. He was 9lbs 10oz at birth.

Aw, sooo cute! Chipwrecked makes cute babies

Is it different the second time around? Are you having a lot of fun?

Second time around has been harder. My wife wasn't well and more burden has been on me. He was colicky and needs to be held all the time. I averaged about 3.5 hrs. of sleep per day, from around 11:30 AM to 3 or so in the PM, then work at night.

It's not an adventure the second time, it's more of a grind.

Maybe other posters can chime in with a more positive story from second or more babies.

Things are improving though

Wife has begun contracting.
Sporadic, but getting stronger and more regular.

She thinks 48 hours tops.
I'll start making more frequent updates if possible.
