Really sorry to hear it, SneakyFerret.

I'm not sure about the 5-6 week time frame in particular, but I know there are definitely specific things that can cause miscarriages at specific times, and that several are treatable, so it's definitely worth talking to an expert.

Either way, of course we were upset at first, but there's really nothing you can do about it, so we're in good spirits now.. she might not even need the DNC this time.
Really sorry about this, SneakyFerret. Your situation is much different than ours, but I would highly recommend talking to an expert as well just to put your minds a little more at ease. Our daughter had an extremely rare chromosomal abnormality (1 in 10,000+), and though we don't know if that's what caused her death, my wife and I had genetic testing done to make sure it wasn't something we carried. We came back clear, which means when we're able to try again (six months to a year), we'll do so with confidence. Hang in there.

oh man @ that picture Boro, makes me want to touch him so badly.

Beautiful babies itt. I can almost smell them.

Sorry about the miscarriages SneakyFerret. Best wishes for finding there's a fixable problem.

I want to be a grandma My daughter has 2 years of grad school left though, so I can't bug her about it. She HAS to finish her education. But she's 26, and I want to be a grandma

My brother, sister and I made my dad wait until I was 32. Now 6 years later he has 5 grandkids.

Patience, g-mom, patience.

what's wrong with kids in grad school? spend the third trimester writing. and, if she's considering academia, the academic clock doesn't really start until post grad school anyway (in the sciences ... not sure about the rest of the academic world)

yeah, poincaraux, I've thought of that & even brought it up to her once. But, it's not my call to advise her to put herself under what might amount to too much pressure. I'll just have to wait until they decide they're ready. Sadly, her hubby is a year younger, and most men don't seem to be in any hurry to have that first baby.

My dear son, life is full of surprises sometimes. Meanwhile, we can just enjoy your little buddy.

Heard on the way home from daycare this afternoon:
"Daddy, I have a bead in my nose. It's silver"

Last week though, at 4 yrs 5 days old, she put together a wooden puzzle of the US map, by herself, in 14 minutes.

My wife was jealous (of the puzzle, not the bead...).

??

I loved this puzzle as a kid, I pulled it out of the closet to play with my kindergartner before bedtime. Thanks for reminding me!

Here are two new pictures of Cadence. She will be 3 months at the end of the month. Already lifting her head up well when on her belly and trys her best to crawl but doesn't move much lol. She's very vocal already.

Anywho....posting a Q to those with multiple babies. How soon did you wait before trying to have another? My gf wants to try right away as she just had her first cycle since her pregnancy has been finished, so I assume her body is capable of having another now.

We don't have multiples but 6-12 months is a lot different from 0-3 months in terms of effort, IMO. Well, daytime effort I suppose. Nighttime sleepthroughs are good.

Hi guys,

I thought I'd come in and report I'm now dad to my one week old Emilia Rose.

Born 2weeks + 2 days overdue by c-section after a long failed induction, she was comfortable and wasn't coming out.

I'm a very happy man at the moment.

This story sounds familiar.

Glad everything worked out!

For those of you who've looked at enough ultrasounds to grok this one, proof that the baby boy has a brain:

Did you do a CVS or something? I can't imagine that any other sex determination would be accurate that early.

thanks gobbomom. i unfortunately won't be able to blame her for my gray hair as i started to get some when i was 18 : / lol

ive recently given up using just for men as i don't feel quite as bad with some gray hair showing at 24 as i did back then.

i dont remember the name of the test, but it has to do with my wifes blood type and having to get rhogam (sp?) shots with our last baby. They have a blood test they do for that now and they can test the baby's dna while they are doing it. pretty cool stuff.
