Congrats! Your sweat thread in BBV made me feel as if I was back in the hospital.

Fascinating to see so many generations in one pic. And lol at the expression on the great-great grandma's face. That is one evil smirk!

We have recently started birthing classes.

By this, I mean, "my wife decided she wanted to go to birthing classes, and since I am in totally cooperative husband mode, I didn't hesitate, in spite of loathing it more than I can express."

So awful. Just plain annoyingly stupid.

Nina Olivia is due April 27th. So far, so good.

A lot of birthing classes are just awful. It's dumbed down to the lowest level, and of course most advice is "do whatever the doctor wants!"

Fortunately my wife had a human biology major, read probably 15 books, and was pretty well informed and we hired a doula to give a private class for about the same cost mainly covering coping techniques. Of course, she ends up getting an epidural due to being induced and size and position of the baby and we used pretty much none of it, but I'd recommend something like that for someone who actually knows how the birthing process works.

Forgot to update, but baby #2 arrived safe and sound on 11/19! Hailey Rene, 6 lbs 8 oz, 17 1/2 in long.

My wife was amazing, delivered her completely natural, no meds, after having a C-section first time around with our son. It was pretty incredible, I didn't know she had that kind of pain tolerance.

Here's Hailey meeting her eager big brother.

My wife in an RN and a BSN. She is just doing everything by the book, and I am along for the ride.

Tomorrow night is the night the baby birthing class where the new agey birthing lady straps thirty pound baby bumps on the husbands and then we all go over to the neo-natal ward and see where everything is and i don't look at my watch very often dreaming of a glass of shiraz.

I have to censor myself due to the risk of becoming the gushing grandparent we all fear. She's pretty incredible in our eyes. I also need to get down there to see here soon. It's been too long.

Sorry to take up so much space, but if you want score points with your wife or girlfriend (or random broad you knocked up), you should show her these Awkward Pregancy Photos. Guns seem to be a recurring theme.

Arg, I posted all the pics, but it was HUGE, so here are just two favorites (Bernard Getz Has a Baby, and either A Very Mizrachi Announcement! or Situation Make Baby, I can't decide) with a link to the rest:

On Saturday morning when I got home from the gym my wife asked me to grab her glasses from underneath my hat. I'm thinking "she's just playing with the kids, what could she possibly need her glasses for?". So they were sticking out a bit, I grabbed them and handed it to her. She had a big smile on her face and said that there was something else underneath that hat. I went over and saw the positive pregnancy test. I think I said "holy crap" about 9 straight times. This will be our third and I'm super excited. We have one of each right now so I'm not sure what I'm rooting for. Just please let the baby be healthy.

We have a somewhat small condo so I gotta put some people to work (I'm an IT recruiter) so we can get into a house.

Should be due around August. Can't wait!!!

sneakyferret/uwbabe 6 weeks in on pregnancy #2. First one ended after a very early miscarriage (5-6 weeks in), so we're (cautiously) VERY excited! Haven't been to the doc yet, but going in a couple days... due date should be sometime near Sept. Will keep updating!

Freakin, how are you both coping with the twins?

Bah, unfortunately we ended up with the same result... early miscarriage.. 5-6 weeks. Maybe we'll talk to the ob about seeing a fertility specialist.. wonder what the chances are to have 2 miscarriages in a row without there being some kind of disorder. Either way, of course we were upset at first, but there's really nothing you can do about it, so we're in good spirits now.. she might not even need the DNC this time.
