Just watched it. I thought it was pretty good but I always liked Negraneau. I remember back in the days before 2+2 in the late 90's when I was trying to learn poker he was a very active poster on the rec.gambling.poker newsgroup and I always enjoyed reading his thoughts before he really was anybody yet.

Please tell me this is a joke. I know it's not, but just lie to me.

I rewound Daniel's rant toward Howard at the one hour mark three times and couldn't stop laughing and cheering!

Yeah, there's been a thread in NVG about it for the about a year or so, including the fact that it was just recently added to Netflix.

Anyone watched that little series "The Micros" on YouTube? It looks like it's 16 episodes that are 7 minutes long each. Looks pretty funny.

Welcome to 2010 - 2011!

BTW, every single episode has its very own thread in NVG. In fact, you may be the only person on 2+2 who isn't familiar with them.

Let me help you get started. Since you've apparently already seen the first episode, here's a little 300+ post thread on Episode 2:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...ghlight=micros

And here's a 300+ post thread about Episode 3:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...ghlight=micros

And after you've read those 600+ comments (and perhaps added your own), you can seek out the other threads there on the remaining episodes.

Have fun!

Just noticed one called Mississippi Grind from 2015. Added it to my Netflix Queue. I'll post a short review when I'm done watching it.

EDIT: Oops, just re-reviewed the whole thread and this movie was already discussed (a poster said it's not a poker movie). I'll watch it anyway.

I thought it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen, gambling or otherwise. If it had a point other than to show what can happen to gambling addicts it escaped me. If not it didn't show it in any sort of original manner. The ending was pathetic and ruined the whole point of the movie.

But, as always, that's just one man's opinion - keep in mind I was actually entertained by Dominique Swain's All In.

Lucky You never gets any love in these sorts of lists. It wasn't a great movie by any means, but I liked the setting in Vegas right around the time of the boom and I completely believed Robert Duvall was a veteran poker player. All In was great only because of Dominique Swain, who I actually met once and is like 4 feet tall. And how did they ever get Michael Madson for that movie? And Deal has to be one of the worst movies I ever saw. Set back poker 10 years and humanity at least 5.

A movie called Win It All starring one of the guys from New Girl was recently added to Netflix. I want the hour and a half of my life back that I spent watching it.

It was basically the exact same movie as Mississippi Grind except with one protagonist instead of two and all in Chicago instead of down the river. And I hated Mississipi Grind.

And FU guys for saying Cold Deck was any good. It was a truly bad, bad movie. Amateurish and not at all about poker.

And the first ten minutes of Win It All is much more interesting than the whole of Cold Deck.

Maverick was also a TV series, black-and-white with Garner, starring the professional poker player who swoops into town. Kind'a cornball, but still very entertaining for a 30min series.

You must have been very entertained if a one-hour show went by so fast you thought you were watching for only 30 minutes.
