So I was stupid enought to leave my Canon Rebel in my checked in luggage on a trip back in July, the airline lost my luggage so my camera is gone. I want to get a new one but also want one that can shoot video. For a while I wanted the Canon Rebel t2i or t3i but I'm wondering are there any better options for the same price or even a better option for cheaper?

All pics was taken with a Canon 50mm 1.4 lens (widest lens I own atm, lol). My buddy used a 14-24 lens on a Nikon D700.

Two pics taken from the same spot. Quite the difference imo.

50mm on a Canon 7D

14mm on a Nikon D700

any thoughts on the recently announced Nikon 1 camera system?

shot this with the Nikon 1 V1 + 1 NIKKOR VR 10-30mm (it's awkward typing all these "1's")

good morning NYC

Aperture: F/11
Shutter Speed: 1/250s
ISO Sensitivity: ISO 100

Burbank airport, my back porch, yup. Just increased contrast, that's it.

That green at the top either has to go, or show more imo. Now it's kind of distracting. There's a little black on the right side too.

How does it look if you crop away that green at the top?

Username_ - way too much contrast imo. It makes the flower look fake.

Probably a shade too much saturation too, but that will probably diminish with a contrast reduction.

Just got a Canon 7D to shoot houses (stills and videos) and the video mode is unreal. Sweet pan shots from the tripod! (10mm) Pics look great too. I'll post some later on when I get a chance.

Sorry, I'm not very good on photoshop either, I assume its not possible to crop away the green bit without losing the top of the flower? Any way heres what I got, also did a contrast reduction (maybe too much?)

Thanks

Check out this video about setting up you 7D.

More on the 180 degree rule for shooting video.

I have a Nikon D40 that was impulse purchased during the poker days and never really used so today I decided to try my first HDR photo. I have no photography knowledge but I bought a few books today on the basics and will be reading through this thread later tonight. In the meantime this is my shoe.
