Not sure how I missed this thread before, as I'm a fairly massive Bond fan (username is a reference to one film, avatar is obv Roger Moore pre-Bond).

Moonraker. Using the title and some elements from the book and almost nothing from the film.
But I don't see any reason to remake a made film when there's plenty of original Fleming material yet to be used (after all, they didn't use much from MR). Not to mention all the continuation novels. I just read
Never Dream of Dying and it was way better than most of the other continuation novels. Although EON doesn't own the rights and probably wouldn't bother buying them.

Fiona Volpe "do you like wild things Mr Bond, James Bond?"
Emilio Largo.
Jaws for about 1 1/2 movies.
That's damn near impossible. One of the best is when Bond shoots Dent in cold blood in Dr No. That just wasn't done in 1962.
Both From Russia With Love themes are great (end credits and credits sequence).
Thunderball.
Roger Moore. While his movies got campy, I can't help loving him. He's so funny, so charming, and seems to be having so much fun. Men are supposed to want to
be Bond. Who the hell wants to be Craig? Sure he's a badass, but he's constantly being tortured and seems miserable most of the time.
That brings me to the topic of Craig's Bond films. I was not in the original anti-Craig contingent, and I mostly loved Casino Royale (although they could have cut 15-20 minutes and not lost much). However the last two films have pretty much left me cold. They've made a big deal about going away from the "formula" and "cliches", but you can only do that so much before you're not really making a James Bond movie. Start your own damn franchise. A question I've had a hard time getting a straight answer to: if you took the last two films and stripped on the Bond name, would you even be able to tell that it's a ripoff of a Bond movie?
