Lol...I started listening to this and I was thinking -- "ooo, the french is slow enough that I can understand what he's saying." But then no, the second half is tres rapide...J'ai été dupé!

Now I'm listening to Slayer and Danzig. Very dark. Gloomy Guses, I guess.

Ry Cooder. Love good blues guitar. Just playing through the page that Rhapsody pulls up with a sampler of his stuff. Always wanted to pay more attention to him, but I'm not always keen on everything he does.

I'm listening to Nick Cave, about whom I know very little. He sounds a lot like Jim Morrison.

I saw him on David Letterman once, and I just noticed that Rushmore posted about him in OOT, so I wanted to check him out.

I love the Stellastarr* tune Coco (I set this to 900 snapshots of me driving to work).

That's too bad about Mary dying, just read that on the Google news. My sixth grade teacher had us singing a lot of Peter, Paul and Mary songs, like If I had a Hammer. They harmonized very well.

Listening to Madvillain right now. A lot of it's really good, some is a bit difficult.

Now I'm listening to Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton. Their voices blended beautifully.

Now I'm listening to Julieta Venegas, who sings in Spanish but is difficult to categorize. She's not Tex-Mex. I like her music a lot. She'd be a worldwide star if she sang in English.

Now I am listening to the great Peter Gabriel's Solsbury Hill, and it fills me with courage, and I am glad I'm alive.

I like Peter Gabriel a lot. He's a real artist, willing to take chances.

Gabriel is one of my favorites, but from back in the day. I haven't listened to his newer stuff, and the worldmusic stuff doesn't interest me. But his first few solo albums were killer. He was definitely adventurous, and has some real heart-bending tunes. Solisbury Hill is one of them, Don't Give Up is another, In Your Eyes is great and unusually confessional for a love song, too. I love the hilariously overblown and ultrasnarky Big Time, and a lot of his other tunes too.

Yes, no new stuff for me either and it's been over 20 years since I saw him live.
Greek Theatre show was most memorable.
