I listened to a little xx after reading the posts in this thread. Very enjoyable. Now I'm listening to Pink - Please Don't Leave Me.

You're the one that decided to blow a simple comment out of proportion. If you make nasty comments to me, why in the world do you think I'm not going to respond in kind? I think you jacked the thread yourself. Nice job. You get a cookie.

Hobby, you're a smart and nice person. In real life. Online, your posts are overwhelmingly disruptive and annoying and you rarely bring anything to the conversation but antagonism. It's boring and tiresome and not what I come to the Lounge for - friendly discussion with friends.

You are now on ignore from me. Take care.

The best song of the 2000s according to Pitchfork. tbh it's not a bad song.

I was digging through my cds and found the Rolling Stones' Some Girls, which I guess I borrowed from my dad and forgot to give back. I read on Wikipedia that it's supposed to be good or something, so I tried listening to it, and I can't get into it. I've heard some other Stones and never really liked any of it, but I'm not ready to admit that I don't like them yet, so I'm gonna listen to Some Girls until I like it or it drives me insane.

Rodrigo y Gabriela

Guitar duets. Similar to Spanish guitar (a la in Vicky Cristina Barcelona) but more lively.

I like that song, I think it might be why I borrowed it in the first place. I'm pretty determined to like the whole damn thing, though.

Maybe you need more Puerto Rican girls and less Mick and Keith.

Recently I found an indie band that doesn't suck. The mind boggles!

These Arms are Snakes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc8TJR9geWs

And I've also been listening to one of the few 'technical' metal bands I've heard that doesn't suck (origin and necrophagist, I'm looking at you):

Neuraxis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSBWQ...eature=related

Landon, Some Girls is pretty good but if you want to like the Stones you should get Exile on Main Street.

really? i mean i love Exile.. but i think that its not great for someone trying to get into the stones..
(plus its a double album which might make it a bit much to digest)

i think beggars banquet or sticky fingers might be better suited as albums to check out.

I think the Rolling Stones' earlier pre-bluesey stuff needs more love. More Brian Jones-era stuff.

Aftermath and Between the Buttons are two truly great places to start.

Oh yeah, today's listening:

The Len Price 3's new album "Pictures", and taking another spin through the Pains of Being Pure At Heart, prior to their Monolith appearance this weekend. Sweet stuff.

Speaking of Aftermath, apparently Ringo wanted to call Revolver After Geography as a play on Aftermath.
