Highly recommend rock bassist Lee Sklar's youtube channel that he started 2 months ago (102k subs lol) due to covid. He has recorded over 25,000 tracks for a mind boggling list of artists that's worth a trip to his wiki page just to view the shear weight of career. Despite his success he's a super low key guy with a million stories and is interesting as hell.

Here's an intro to him via Rick Beato.

Terry Kath....he was amazing. Accidentally killed himself.

By 1978, Kath was regularly carrying guns around and enjoyed shooting them.[39] Around 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on Monday, January 23, after a party at the home of roadie and band technician Don Johnson, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, Kath began to play with his guns. He spun his .38 revolver on his finger, put it to his temple, and pulled the trigger. The gun was not loaded. Johnson warned Kath several times to be careful. Kath then picked up a semi-automatic 9-mm pistol and, leaning back in a chair, said to Johnson, "Don't worry about it ... Look, the clip is not even in it." Those were his last words. [35] To assuage Johnson's concerns, Kath showed Johnson the empty magazine. Kath then replaced the magazine in the gun, put the gun to his temple and pulled the trigger. Apparently unbeknownst to Kath, the semi-automatic had a round in the chamber. He died instantly from the gunshot,[35] eight days shy of his 32nd birthday.

I find it interesting that the sound of women singing reduces even the least religious to use the words “Goddess “ or “Angel”

I was trying to decide between “The winner takes it all” and “Don’t speak”. Noticed the Madness T-shirt
A song that speaks to today’s world

To not be John or Paul and get your songs on a Beatles album, the song had to be extraordinary. That's why George Harrison came up with this one among two or three notable others.

Harrison’s attempts to find joy and meaning in life have produced some of the most moving pieces in music history

RIP Bonnie

Another song Doctors will play to you in order to determine if you are dead. If you don’t instantly respond with joy they pack you off to the mortuary

That is such a sad story. He moved from rhythm to lead like nobody's business. Very apparent in the song I posted.

It may be a gender based thing, but stuff like the above adds to my difficulty in deciding who is the best female vocalist. She took it on after it had been performed by Aretha Franklin

If we start with the assumption that the Beatles were the greatest band ever, the Kinks second best and the Clash in 3rd there are still a few slots to fill in the top ten.

One of my limited supply of kind hearted but foul mouthed brothers turned up to help me cope. I wonder why I thought of this?

Always regret the time when I stopped mishearing “ Papa don’t preach, I’m in trouble deep” as “Papa don’t preach , I’m in trouble, dear”
