okay, let us explain. why do you gently mock Dylan instead of mocking the people you describe?

Yes he is a musical genius. This is not incompatible with him being a complete waste of time as a human being.
Of course I will leave Morrissey alone, even I am not that desperate .

Maybe because it annoys them more effectively than mocking them directly?

I don't see how it's not? I see how someone could think one outweighs the other, but clearly he's not a 'complete waste of time as a human being' all the time his music is very much a part of his 'human being'.

Also - if Moz can forgive Jesus, then ya'll sure as **** should be able to forgive him.

I don’t like having to repeat myself. But sometimes it is necessary.

My hatred for Morrissey is genuine and visceral. To explain
He had an trivial argument with Tony Wilson , he said that Wilson should be shot , his body stuffed into the boot of a car and buried on saddlelworth moor. For those who may not know the moors murderers raped, tortured and killed children and buried their poor little bodies on the moor.

Tom Jones is not as good a singer as Roy Orbison. Close decision mind you.

That's the thing though - you do keep repeating yourself. You keep bringing Morrissey up in the 'Music: What are you listening to today?' thread.

It's not the first time I've made a post in support of Morrissey (his music) ITT in response to one of your posts where you both post his music and talk about how everyone should hate him.

When you repeatedly keep coming back to him and his music ITT, you clearly don't actually think he's a "complete waste of time".

If that was the case, you should make a "Music I don't listen to today because I have a genuine and visceral hatred for them"-thread and keep posting about Morrissey in that one.

And the "I like The Smiths, but I don't like Morrissey"-people ITT should stop fooling themselves. Morrissey was The Smiths. Or vice versa.

Re: Music: What are you listening to today?

Johnny Marr is one of the greatest musicians in history. Morrissey is adequate.

Marr is excellent, and I don't mean to say the other members of The Smiths were irrelevant.

I'm just saying Morrissey was the one who tied it all together and made them "The Smiths".

Morrisseys (early) solo work is every bit as good as the best of The Smiths.

Edit:
And a lot of his later stuff is brilliant too:

The Clash may not actually have been the only band that matters, but they made a dammed good case for it

Some people think that if your musical tastes when
you were young involved edgy left field music and then you turn around and say how much you admire ABBA that you are being ironic. Foolishness

If you have a little time on your mind, try and work out which of “Mr blue sky “ or “Here comes the Sun” is the best expression of the joy of observing a huge nuclear fireball.
