Twenty years (and about two months) ago, Marius Müller died, way too young, in a car accident.
He was one of the (if not THE) best guitarists Norway ever had and in addition he was a talented song writer, funny guy with a radio show and a genuinely awesome and good guy.
This song is my favourite of his - Norwegian lyrics, but it's a song about being a stranger in a foreign land, sitting in a bar, watching the (unobtainable?) girl of your dreams dancing.
Been dying for the longest time to find available video of Elton's 2-song performance from The Concert for New York City, held a couple/3 weeks after September 11th. They've done a job keeping virtually all of that concert off the free internet video sites. I have it on DVD, and it is available for purchase on youtube, etc. Elton's performance alone is worth the purchase.
Elton sings 'I Want Love,' and 'Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters'(just him and his piano ohhhhh) in a manner peerless among all the many times he's performed those songs. Just heart-wrenching, beautiful with the camera often panning to the crowd, which was full of 1st responders and the families that lost loved ones.
Go get it!!
