Anybody doing anything for WSOP final table tomorrow?

Live in Scotland. Sick of the approaching winter already. Would consider moving to BA if anyone wants to live with a sport mad, party animal. I have played mid stakes cash games for the last 2 years. Would consider other places. Im tihinking about moving somewhere January. PM if interested.

Hi, myself and two other mtt grinders are looking to get a house in BA for January and/or February and this thread has been a huge part of getting the motivation together, so a big thank you to all the contributers!

Do any of you have a recommendation for a site other than craigslist to use or can suggest what a reasonable price range might be for a 3-4 bedroom place in Palermo? Prices on Craigslist range from 2-15k...really all over the place so it would be nice to get a better grasp of the situation.

Thanks for any help...can't wait to get there, and really looking forward to getting in on one of those tuesday night dinners

In Puerto Madero you pbb won't find anything much cheaper then that. And why would you wanna stay there? It's a nice area w good restaurants and the casino is close. That's about the only 2 advantages. Most ppl from this topic are much better located if they stay in Palermo/Recoleta/Las Cañitas but that's just my opinion of course.

I've been out of the country for 2 months but before leaving you could if you were withdrawing from an account with that specific bank here in Argentina. As far as having an account out of the country and getting U$D out of the ATM, I never knew that you could.

I heard some people could do it, but never worked for me. Bringing enough dollars is the best thing you can do when you go to Argentina. Exchange offices rape you so hard it's not even funny.

my first choice for puerto madero is prolly bc i already know the aerea... its safe.. good restaurants... and the casino..

what would u recommend me beside puerto madero ?

Palermo > Las canitas > Recoleta > puerto Madero but that's like i said before a personal choice. All areas will be somewhat similar level of safety. Tons of restaurants & bars

the best thing about being in madero is the nature reserve, the security and the fact that your average Portena will assume you are a baller. on the other hands, those are pretty much the only good things.

i dont know much about this area..
what should i learn bout this ?

Soho has more bars
Hollywood has more restaurants
palermo viejo is more quiet, wouldn't stay there tbh
palermo botanico is more quiet, some gardens

I have lived in Soho all the time and i loved it. It's kinda 'central' triangle located between hollywood/cañitas <--> recoleta <--> barrio norte/villa crespo which are all the neighbourhoods where you'll be hanging out most of the time for bars, restaurants, sports and whatnot

Its a taste thing, I love the busyness of recoleta and access to so many things right outside my door, where as the cool trendy restaurants center around soho/hollywood (but a relatively short cab ride away). The worst thing you can do though is move to San Telmo or Puerto Madero and be very isolated from the best parts of BA without a really, really good reason.

I moved around from Las Canitas -> Palermo Soho -> Palermo Hollywood -> Palermo botanico -> Mendoza [to avoid confusion: Mendoza is a city on the other side of Argentina].

I can see why most people like Palermo, but I really liked Las Canitas. However I didn't go out to bars nearly as much as everyone else, and I was there with my girlfriend who doesn't drink at all.

I just moved here a few months ago and have had no trouble taking up to $2000.00 US Dollars from an ATM per day; it depends more on the rules of your financial institution than anything from what I've gathered!

*EDIT - Regarding areas to live I can't stress enough how awesome it's been living here in Belgrano the past few months! I'm steps away from the subway/train/buses and can get anywhere in Capital within 30 minutes or less. Palermo and Recoleta are maybe 20 blocks south and the area is within walking distance to all of the parks/stadiums/etc. on Libertador. The area is full of shopping and restaurants and the prices are so much more reasonable that Palermo/Recoleta or anywhere "downtown". I'd be happy to PM any info about the specific area if you're interested, it's gets kind of confusing just trying to look at some of the maps and addresses.
