It's not as it's been said. Actually, I feel kind of offended for the generalization. There are honest and dishonest people in Argentina as in every other nation.
I agree with you Spike, and I think the case has been overstated here, but expectations for business will probably be different between an American and an Argentina, for example. And since going into business with someone is sometimes compared to marrying them, you can see why it might not be a bad idea.
Also, it's not just expectations. The whole idea of "the customer is always (or even frequently) right" doesn't really exist here so the expat might get very frustrated letting a Porteno handle certain aspects of a business.
