there´s a lot less people on jan, people that start vacations try to go in this month. It depends of what he wants to do during that time, if its worth it to get here in january.

I'm with Georgina. There is a noticeable difference in the city during January. There's significantly less people here, and those that remain are generally staying indoors because it's hot. Of my Argentine friends, more than 50% left the city last January. Lots of nice restaurants are closed temporarily, some clubs are closed temporarily, etc.

Also, it's really hot here, and air conditioning isn't as normal as it is in the US.

BsAs Fellas,

A few of us had an idea a couple weeks back to hold a poker tournament here. But this wouldn’t be just any tournament. It would be a very unique tournament. The idea being to have a **** load of raw Argentinean fun, as well as to crown the poker champion of Buenos Aires. Here are the ideas:

• The tournament is to be held at a large, vacation property here in Palermo. It has everything we need; space for a tournament, a ping pong table, and a sweet upstairs VIP area.
• Entertainment will be provided. Fine ass waitresses and dancers es muy necessario. We apparently know where to get the models, not just the Argentinean regs that we all know of.
o Security will be necessary in order to make sure we everything goes according to plan. You guys know Surgio from the Alamo? Having his services could only be +EV because he is a straight G.
• Mucho amounts of booze will be provided for this game along with special brownies as well obvio. It would be a legit touch to have an asado going in the kitchen so we have some bomb food, obvio. Cigars should be in use as well, after all this is a gentlemen’s game.
• Tournament buy-in should be decently sized. When we discussed this number, we discussed it in a range of buy-in possibilities (see below for details).
o A cool plus is that I believe we can get cash up front for everything so it will be possible to take tournament entry fee online through stars or whatever. This should make it a lot easier and safer for all of us.

Basically everything can be set up in a week’s time if the interest is there. This needs to happen because it would be sick. Let me know what you think. Also if everyone could choose a range for buy-in tournament amount (let’s discuss an all-inclusive price, for entry fee + fee for tourney expenses; entertainment, booze, food, renting equipment, etc). The following are the options in USD; 500-750, 750-1000, 1000-1500 (proudly choose one so we can all see how poor/ cheap or baller you all really are. Juan don’t be ashamed, you are a low-stakes grinnnnnder). Also feel free to discuss tournament details below as well. Rebuys? Payout structure (we were thinking of a combo of cash/girls). We have a friend here who is a property manager and who basically runs BA. He loves poker and loves the idea, so has been runnin tons of numbers and figuring everything out for us in terms of expenses and he recently showed us the property we can use so everything can be ready to go soon. All that is left is to know is how many people want in. So who the **** is in? If you are def in, pm me asap so I can get together the numbers. Gracias dudes.

I suggest a main event style tourno with those kind of buy ins and a number of cheaper side tournaments from $20-$40 SNGs to MTTs starting from the $50-$100 range.

Keep us all busy even when we bust.

When are you holding it?

If I am here, I am in.

How bout a 5k peso buyin round robin beer pong tourney instead of poker? Or 2 HU games of poker and then the rubber match is decided by beer pong (or vice versa)? That would be a hell of a lot more fun.

In college I participated in the URI beer Olympics, maybe we should do something similar. A 2+2/BA ironman with a poker tournament, beer pong, and some other yet to be determined competition.

That way we could crown the king of BA.

No matter, I support the basic idea 100% and can't wait for the party.

I just moved here from Canada for I'm thinking 4-6 months. How many people usually show up for the Tuesday night dinner club? I'd be interested in meeting some 2+2er's and fellow degenerates.

Hola,

I arrived in BA 3 weeks ago. Would like to come to these Tuesday dinners and get to know some other poker players. Also there are a couple other poker guys I know that are interested.

Should I just show up to Kiuri at 9:00 tomorrow?

Dan
