Guys, checking my spam inbox I found something that might appeal some of you.

There´s a donkament in Bariloche, 1k BI, no rebuys, 60min levels, 200 players max.

http://www.casinodebariloche.com/

I guess the field is going to be really soft and Bariloche and its sorroundings are beautyful. I assume there is going to be some cash game action also.

Hi guys,

I have some vacation time to burn by the end of the year, and am considering BA.

My travel time would be sometime around mid-late November most likely.

A few questions:
- It looks like this would be spring time in BA. Decent time to travel?
- Are there any cool events that I should time my trip around?
- Any group poker houses or other 2p2'ers interested in hosting me or sharing a hotel?

Has anyone gone to the club Ink in Palmero? I think a few friends and I are going on thursday and want to hear some reviews. Thanks

I keep missing these dinners, wish I could go. Took a little excursion to Santiago Chile for a couple days. Just a note: first time travelers to Chile from the USA/Canada have to pay a $131 fee to enter and its good for as long as you have your passport. Luckily they took credit cards along with cash.

I stumbled upon a Nike outlet store yesterday. Its pretty good, the prices are a lot better than other stores in town. Its on Corrientes a couple blocks on the Belgrano side of Dorrego.

Hey guys. I don't post much but I play as "mr doodles70" on FTP so might play w/ some of you guys. Also, I'm 23 not 39. I have been living in Bariloche for the last month and a half. Mostly snowboarding because I had to borrow my landlords mobile broadband card for Internet and it disconnects every two minutes. I will be living outside the US for at least a year to get the income tax exclusion, have some fun, and learn some stuff.

I just got a place online in Buenos Aires with three floors and two balconies and a barbecue that looks pretty sweet. My friend is getting married back in the States so I won't be moving in until September 21 or 22.

Questions:

1) I know golf was mentioned before and most people said they hadn't bothered golfing. Has anybody been yet? The place I got is in Palermo Hollywood and I heard the only municipal course is near or in Parque Tres de Febrero...which I think is in Palermo. I am wondering if anybody has been to this course or if anybody knows a golfing instructor; I am terrible at golf and have decided that for as much as I have played, there is no excuse for me to be as bad as I am, so I have made it my goal to at least break 100 within a year. So, I'm bringing my clubs.

2) Has anybody actually learned or attempted to learn tango? Experiences/thoughts? It looks badass.

Hopefully I'll get to meet some of yall and maybe make some use of this barbecue pit. Also, it'd be sweet if I could go to your weekly dinners if there's room.

Later,

Caleb

I'm renting through them right now-- that does seem really weird-- especially because I'm moving into a new place also through them in a few days that we were able to go and see. Haven't had any problems but have only been in current place for a little less than 1 month and we haven't needed them for anything

Id be thankful for more advice or an email adress of the agent you use via PM. The one im talkin to is called Ariel P.

My roommate (Soah) is the one who has been dealing/ and emailing with them-- I forgot the names of the people we met. Its been a different guy both times though. Once he wakes up he can get you the name of who he's been in contact with.

My family and I rented an apartment through bytargentina.com and we were really happy with them. They were one of the better agencies we worked with.

It's not unusual for them not to want to show you the apartment. The rental agencies that specialize in short-term furnished apartments aren't really geared towards showing you the apartment before you rent it, because they don't want to disturb the renters who are currently in it. (You'll appreciate that when you're the one living in it!)

My wife wrote up a couple blog posts about our experiences working with agencies for short-term rentals in Buenos Aires. Check it out for more details.

They told me they only do visits for stays of at least 3 months. And of course the place has to be unoccupied at the time.

Besides Matt, is anyone getting laid in BA with the locals? Judging from this thread it doesn't seem like it.

Side note: I really want to be wrong.

We have 'girlfriends' that we fool around with, but they say people don't normally sleep with you for ~3 months. It kinda sucks. Trying to average the standard Argentine time + US time and meet somewhere in the middle. They are some of the nicest/coolest girls I've ever met, and really hot.. so not complaining.

Dinner tomorrow? Also anyone playing that Puerto Madero poker tourney? It's a $1k + $1k rebuy + $1k addon US$. I wanna play but don't have enough pesos/can't get enough out of the ATM in time. Will pay some Vig if someone wants to trade online $$ for cash. Or I can just pay you back@2400 pesos/day.

davesafe, thanks for the honest answer. Do you communicate in english or spanish with them?

It deppends a lot,my conclusion is that more older they are, more easy to sleep with them it is.
And mephisto,i think they really like when a foreign people speaks spanish with a wierd accent,at least i like the girls when they speak with a not normal spanish accent,it sounds funny and very nice.

So i think its better to speak them in spanish..
